As previously mentioned I think it may only be the 2022’s at the mo. The precursor GWM update appeared on my FDRS but disappeared before I could install it.

Is the new Sync 4a available in FDRS ? I am reading some mixed messages about that.

It appears that select few MY2022 vehicles are getting the updates via FDRS. Many others with MY2022 vehicles (including me), who were not blessed with GWM, TCU or APIM updates.

Some have speculated this may be due to Ford Early Access (EA) enrollment status.

EA and FDRS update availability are not connected AFAIK. I've gotten bunches of things before EA folks got them using FDRS.

Well you may not be aware of this but you can be enrolled in EA....and not be enrolled in any particular program in EA, so it's like you're not really in EA at all...but you are...just not really.

A good test would be for an MY2022 owner who's in EA and not seeing these updates, to unenroll, wait a day and then check FDRS to see if updates show up.

  • My Car: 2022 MY, 2/19/22 build, in EA, GWM was there but disappeared in FDRS last night
  • Friend's car: 2022 MY, 6/23/22 build, NOT in EA, no GWM/APIM updates showing
Not sure what the pattern is. Buying an FDRS license just for this seems like a gamble at the moment. At least I have the freshest Door Control Modules in the land

GWM disappeared because you ran PCM first. It was reported by few that you should have done GWM, TCU and APIM first, before others.

Always, always update GWM, TCU before anything else.
?‍♂

I swear, I did read all of this before falling in the same pit as @scoopman. I misread one of Mike's other comments... d'oh. I'm still not sure why my friend's isn't showing the GWM, but he hasn't had any updates at all since he took delivery in ~September.

Only Ford can tell us the method behind the madness... I was interested to know your build date because I'm curious if Ford is working backwards from 2023, 2022 Job 2, 2022 Job 1, etc.

2022 Job 1 here, and all I had was PCM, BCM, diag modules and hvac module.
