Wow, thanks again Mike. Really appreciated. Sorry about the newbie question but why is the GWM so significant? I was hoping there would be an APIM update ?. Cheers, Mark

Anything available for my baby? Been meaning to re-up my license to mess with somethings and guess now is as good time as any if that GWM update is available. Don’t know if any Job 1 ‘21 have received it yet through.

Mark:

ETIS shows no campaigns for your VIN.

Here's your list of available updates, chief among them that GWM:

The rest is a refresh of the powertrain updates and the HVAC update that gives you more heat.

Mike G: thanks again for helping me out. I’ve donated £25 to Cancer Research to reflect my gratitude. This is all down to you. It’s even more poignant as my mum has just been diagnosed with stage 4 rectal cancer. You don’t have to do what you do but it really is appreciated. Thanks, Mark

Well the gateway module (GWM) connects everything else in the car together. That's also where the TCU (telematics modem) downloads module updates to from over the air stuff.

Anytime there's a GWM in your list it's good to get that one done because it normally opens the door for other desirable things like an APIM update. It's a "dependency" thing. So anytime there's either a GWM or TCU in your list there's a very good chance that knocking those out will immediately result in a new APIM update or some other functionality improvement.

Well if it does then you would be the first 21J1 to get it then.

A quick comparison shows that you and I are on the same GWM revision, and you have an update pending for the GWM and I do not.

We both have 21J1 cars.

I'd be interested to know what info mine shows (and thank you!). I received the OTA "charging" update about a week ago or so.

Good luck!

Alessandro;

Welcome to the forum!

FDRS shows a 3 Apr '22 build date for your car.

Here's the list of available updates:

Quite often the reason an APIM update hasn't shown up is that there is either a GWM (gateway) or TCU (telematics modem) update that hasn't updated yet...and due to software dependencies the APIM update won't show up until either or both of those updates have been done.

You do have a GWM update in your list and it's possible that this is keeping you from receiving any newer updates to your Sync system (APIM).

In fact the more I think about it...did you have your APIM replaced on 24 October? Because a PMI was done on that date. And the Sync version you say you have now "21355_PRODUCT Rev: 316" I don't think ever came out on a '22 model Mach-E, especially one that was made in April of this year. Did they install an APIM from a '21 model Mach-E possibly?

I think you need to take the car back and tell them you want to open a case with Ford to get this corrected. Something is not right here.

Mike
Do you think I can upgrade myself if I buy FRDS and VCM2?

Yes you can. But a VCM II is a lot more expensive (here in the US) than a Mongoose+ Ford J2534 adapter cable. Like three times the cost.

A couple of folks have said that when they went to do updates and they started with something like the PCM...when the list refreshed the GWM was missing from their list. So definitely try the GWM first before anything else (before it gets loose).

Hey @Mike G , do you have a chance to check my VIN? Seeing if by chance I have the new GWM before I buy a license. Thank you as always!
