Hi Mike,

Taking my car in to the dealer tomorrow to do the HVAC update as I’m still on 3.5.4.2. Just wondering if the GWM is here. I will push to get them to update as many modules as I can. Any particular order they should be updated in? What would be your recommendations? Thanks 3FMTK3SSXMMA50149

I see no GWM in this list you posted, or today when I checked in FDRS. In fact it's the same list.

They will probably do just the HVAC based on the TSB cause they are getting paid for that. Takes like literally two minutes...or actually longer to setup the VCM than to do the update. I don't know why you don't have the GWM showing yet.

If they wanted to knock some of this out...just selecting the PCM will result in all the powertrain related updates being done in sequence. Like 20-25 minutes worth of effort.

I received 4.1.1 via OTA yesterday. Do you see the APIM file available for me waiting to be send via OTA?

I do. Either you wait for the OTA or you FDRS it. There will be another GWM right after as I'm sure you know.

4.1.1 is the GWM only. It did not do the OBCC.

And you're still waiting on the APIM update to be delivered by OTA I guess. Unless you get in there with the Mongoose.

I just received 4.1.2 OTA today 24hours after receiving 4.1.1. Updating the PCM software with FDRS helped stimulate my OTA. ‘S

No gateway or APIM update in your list...in fact it looks like you have the same APIM update that those of us with the new UI have (based on the software revision) but it looks like your gateway (GWM) rev is totally different from the 21/22 versions.

Does your "About Sync" page show you at Sync 640 or is it some other rev number?

living with the hvac controls just really is non intuitive and awful. I’m really wanting that “rotary knob controls Hvac” update in 4.1.2. I’ve been stuck on 3.5.2 for the longest time. Is this something you can assist with an FDRS account? I’m told it takes 90 mins just to put it on a flash drive for the update.

There are a couple of problems with how you want to go about this.

In order for the new UI APIM update to be installed you'd first have to have the previous gateway (GWM) update or it wouldn't work properly (that gateway update is the equivalent of OTA 4.1.1).

Then there's the problem of the certificate file that is generated based on your VIN, and that is normally only generated when FDRS is directly connected to your car via adapter cable. Anybody with FDRS probably can pull the files off their computer and put them on a shared drive somewhere for you to put on a thumb drive, but without the VIN specific certificate your car won't accept the update.

Very interesting...592.

When I did my Lightning there were two steps to getting to the new UI (from Sync 539). The first was to Sync 610...which showed absolutely no visual differences from Sync 539...only the version number was different...and then a gateway update and then the update of the APIM to Sync 640 for the new UI.

Kinda strange how they have these separate code branches...kinda stoopid too. The 23 models actually don't have all the Sync features that the 21/22 models have right now. That's crazy. But don't you guys have the newer BlueCruise with lane changing etc. ?
