Do you still have your FE and is it up to date in FDRS?

Do you have the improved charging curve? I am pretty sure the increase in capacity was included with the improved charging curve. I got it when I updated my car at the beginning of February so it has been out there for quite some time. After that update I had the improved charging curve as well as the extra capacity.
Yes, it was updated when I took it in for my recent 20,000 mile service. I specifically recall the capacity increase did not come with the improved charging curve which I received last year.

It is very hard to tell if you have actually received the increase. But you can tell if you use an OBDII scanner and compare the SoC with SoCD. If they cross at around 48%, you have the 91 kWh battery. If they cross at around 44%, you have 88 kWh of battery.

The reason it crosses closer to 50% now is because the extra 3 kWh was added at the bottom of the battery instead at the top. So now there is approximately the same buffer at the top and at the bottom of the battery. Before, there was a bigger buffer at the bottom.

It still charges to the same max SoC as before, but since some of the buffer was removed at the bottom, you can drive to a lower SoC.

I bet you have it. You definitely have it if all your software modules are up to date.

Which ota gave the extra usable capacity?
Based on the posts in this forum, the OTA that provided the improved charging curve provided the increased capacity. I don't remember which one that was.

Wow, I'm impressed. Either @mkhuffman didn't read my post, or the tranquilizers are working. No "it's outrageous that they might give someone more capacity" or "that's not their decision to make".

? ? ? ? ? ? ?
By "tranquilizers", do you mean beer? It's 5:00 PM somewhere.

Interesting. I'll have to check that.

Thanks.

Also keep in mind that Darren Palmer said back in 2021 that they're going to look at individual usage in determining things. So, if you're the aggressive driver who charges to 100% and DC charges daily, and Mary is the calm driver that charges to 90% and rarely DC charges, it's possible that at some point, Mary can charge faster than you, and Mary has more battery capacity than you.
This would be great. What I’d like to see is a “charge to 110%” option enabled X times per year if conditions allow. That would be super helpful for my infrequent road trips. But I think it is unlikely to ever happen.

I noticed no regen the other day after I charged to 100%, so it would imply the unlocked usable capacity are indeed at the bottom end SOC as reported (I'm 21' job 2). But I think it would be wishful thinking Ford unlocked even more for this winter.

Because SoCD and SoC are almost exactly 50% when charging/discharging (91 kWh usable capacity), it appears the locked capacity is evenly at the top and the bottom of the battery.

I agree. 91 available of 99 total capacity is pretty high already.
This (extended range pack). I feel I have a massive battery with plenty of capacity. What Ford needs to do is work on energy density and trying to get the vehicles weight down. Though high speed is still the biggest range killer.

But it is easy for me to throw stones. My kingdom is tiny and full of short drives. The usable range of my ER pack, even in the cold, is still days of driving for me. Come to think of it, I need to start driving faster ?

Still waiting for last years.
You have it it is on the bottom of the pack; you just can not see it but it is there ;).

Now if we could just charge it we will be all set.

Who is this Mary starting to not like her. ;)

That would get you to the first DCFC (maybe skip one) and then the joy would be over.
