I’m at the dealership now. My salesman informed me that he made a mistake, that for cars already here, the D&D stays the same at $1300. I assume it’s going up to $1500 for new orders.
Good to hear the D&D stays the same!

Did your dealer print out a new window sticker reflecting the lower price ?

They did not and I did not ask for it. In hindsight, maybe I should have asked about it. I can ask my sales person about it.

That’s correct. And no waiting for the rebate. They just applied it to the price as down payment.
So cool that Ford is not treating the price reduction as a price protection check in the mail....

Nice to stack the price drop + PCO on the spot!

Now if Ford can get my 10 month old order to my dealer, I'd be tickled!

Get the "cant change the past" but almost a year for delivery??
Currently the wait isn’t nearly as bad as for some of the early adopters who waited >2 years. My wait was >1 year. ?‍♂??

Some configurations have shorter times than others, and some dealers get higher priority than others. I’m guessing your dealer is lower on the pecking order than some others and you have a lower priority configuration. ?‍♂?

The software update did not fix anything except the car being driveable instead of bricking. Very few is not correct, many have had failures. What percent no one knows, but it's not "very few".
1) I feel like the update throttled current in certain scenarios to prevent the HVJB contactor from welding. Are you certain it doesn't?

2) I guess 'very few' is subjective... to my knowledge, Ford hasn't officially stated it, but sounds like a few %, and I consider anything less than a few % very few.

Agree with your points. But not talking about mark ups. I got at an MSRP order. I still tried to negotiate my trade offer and best deal. My point was prices up (MSRP), tax benefit down, prices down.

I have been in business and marketing in previous jobs and around a long time. This was clearly a tax benefit marketing scheme. It's a numbers game.
Except that's not what actually happened with the tax credit over the past couple of years. Did Ford price their car with the tax credit in mind? Absolutely. Did they price it so they could get an extra $7500 in profit from each sold? Not a chance. More than likely they priced it so that most of the tax credit went towards covering their R&D expenses related to developing the car in the first place. Made it a lot easier to amortize the costs associated and accelerate the payback time.

Ford has raised the price of the car several times in the past couple of years. During that time the tax credit amount hasn't changed. It's only with the new tax credit rules eliminating the bulk of models from qualifing for the tax credit, Tesla cutting their prices by a significant amount, and a lot of backlash over the price increases, has Ford decided to cut their prices to stay competitive. But those price cuts don't come close to offsetting the loss of the tax credit amount for certain trims. Max amount is $5900, and that requires buying a GT. Even the California Route 1 only gets a cut of $5600. They're still significantly more expensive than the 2022 models, and very much more expensive than the 2021 models.

Edited to add: Every car maker has priced their EV offerings with the federal tax credit in mind. GM aggressively cut the price of the Bolt EV when the credit started phasing out for them. Tesla did similar price cuts when the tax credit started phasing out for them. I'm sure that Toyota was going to start doing the same, but the passage of the IRA short-circuited those plans.

Mach E... I hope soon.

From Barton’s today…
(Pre-earnings-report figure that reflects what we have all seen with lot inventory and ADM drops.)

“Mustang Mach-E sales came in at 2,626, off 45% from the 4,775 SUVs in December. Ford also sold 357 E-transit vans.

The Mach-E drop demonstrates how government incentives can influence buyer behavior.”

Well geez if Ford delivers my built '23 MME from December would be a nice way to get a sales down!

so is anyone in my boat. I bought my Mach-E Saturday then Monday they announced the price drop. Talk about ticked off. I know they said they were gonna retro it back to jan 1st but does anyone know how that will go? I all ready tried calling ford motor credit and customer care and some other department they sent me too and al three just kept saying it wasn't their department and transferred me to someone lese that also said it wasn't their department. Dealer of course i went and asked them and they swore up and down they had no idea the prices were dropping because I was like why wouldn't you say anything about the price drop if i just waited one day?
Look at the bolt refund it took a couple weeks for them to reach out to buyers. Just sit back and watch the forums for someone to post that they got contacted

Ford put it in writing that you’ll be covered.

Dealers never know about incentives or price changes before they’re announced.

You will be fine.

Rejoice! You weren’t expecting a discount and now you’ll get one. You should be the opposite of “ticked off.”

Correct, You are making the same point now I was making. They price the vehicles with tax in mind. Its a selling/marketing point. The payment is the bottom line for most buyers. You tell them they are getting 7500 back is motivating.

^^^ 100% correct.

Ford will reach out to those buyers who bought in January 2023.

Ford was very generous to give back a price difference retroactively - look at Tesla, they will give you the middle finger for purchases prior to the major price drop in January.

Very smart of Ford to keep those who bought in 2023 happy since the tax rules have changed significantly.

And those that got their '23 in 2022 are the real lucky ones that didn't have to deal with the income cap, MSRP cap, tax credit cut in March, plus the extra paperwork.

Hoping mine arrives before March when the IRS rules on the battery.....

Soo..... here is my question....

I checked out my order online and the pricing has not been updated to this.

However, does none of this matter to folks who already getting the "private offer" since Ford will just modify the private offer so that you are still basically getting 2022 MSRP?
