So, I got an email this past week that my complimentary BlueCruise subscription is about to expire, and it got me thinking…

I’m just curious that if you pay to subscribe, you’ll get all the BlueCruise updates like 1.2 on 22s and 21s. Would be interesting to see what they do price wise for a feature they will not support software updates on.
Their current plan is $600/3 years. Although, they haven’t said they won’t support older vehicles with updates, it’s just their actions, or lack there of, that is saying that.

Wait. Hands ON driving doesn't (won't) require a subscription...right?
Maybe you meant Hands Free driving for item #1? ?
This thread has exploded and can't keep up. I was just interested in how hard the subscription push will go. ;) Rebranded and there you go. I asked and answer way back when. ?‍♂
BlueCruise hands on is not a subscription. Handsfree is, as is connected navigation. Hands on is really just Adaptive Cruise with Lane Centering and Lane Keeping.
Has that changed or typo? ?

I would guess BCHF requires two subscription BCHF and NAV in three years? Or if you sign up for BC you get NAV for free?

BCHF and Connected Navigation are not required for the other to work, they are independent of each other.

You could use the embedded navigation system that comes with the vehicle with or without BCHF. The Navigation subscription is for the Connected Service, traffic data, parking information, charging station information and weather data. Not the actual navigation function, that’s already included when you purchased the car.

I understand that the nav is also a connected service and after 3 years if you want map updates etc. a subscription is required? The question is can you have a BCHF subscription without having the NAV subscription or will you require both even if they work independent?

Also if the lane centering button will become totally inoperable if not subscribed and the rebranded BCHO will cease to function.

Yes you can have BCHF without the connected services navigation subscription. Or the reverse is true. You could have the navigation services without BCHF. They are independent of each other. They are not required to be together for either to work.

The adaptive cruise with lane centering does not require a subscription, period. ACC with lane centering will continue to operate with or without BCHF and/or the navigation subscription.

I ordered my car in April 21, purchased a different one on October because my order wasn’t ready or even being built yet, and knew BlueCruise was for three years. I had it on my Job 2 from day 1.

My question is this, and I’m really surprised no one has mentioned this: no one has a Mach-e older than 2 years, right? First cars were delivered in 2021? So how is it the 3 year subscription/trial is over already? {Does math: 23-21=2…}

Some (or all) 2021 Job 1 vehicles that came without BC got a free one year subscription.

What happens to the subscription if you sell before the 3 years?

Well, then you pat yourself on the back for helping Ford “continue to develop and maintain BlueCruise”? These geofences don’t make themselves.

$5 weekly subscription (through FP, without automatic renewal). Just saying.
I’d probably spend, eh, $25 to $50 a year on it. Which is better than nothing.BUt a $600 price tag on something I use very seldom, that results in nothing. Which is better $25? Or Nothing. Trying to force a 3 year massive purchase on such a minimally more advanced product is going to hurt the company more than anything.
