Yes, OTA scheduling can cause some people headaches. In-person updates can also be a pain, but you have to ask yourself if something’s not operating correctly. If something is not operating correctly, something like the HVAC module update will be necessary and covered by Ford. If everything seems to be operating properly, I can’t see how Ford will pay your dealer for something like a GWM or TCU update. ?<SNIP>
@BigMach-E and @HuntingPudel: Oh boy, the OTA software updates seem much trickier than I imagined. I'm sure I would bee fine with the the outdated system the way it is, but I definitely assumed I would be able to get the car up-to-date. So I'm understanding you guys correctly: You're basically saying with a 2021 off the shelf MME will not be able to update to the newest software version by design? Ford has been updating modules in newer models, so the older models are not compatible with the new software anymore? @BigMach-E I'll definitely read your thread more closely, thank you!
Don’t forget that the PE has bigger front brakes. That was one of the major reasons I got the PE. ??The way I see it is that there's a $6000 difference in purchase price, but assuming you keep it for 3-4 years, when you sell it or trade it in, you'll get about $3000 more for the GTPE vs GT. So the net difference is 3k. For that 3k, you get nicer seats, better-looking wheels, summer tires and magnaride suspension. Also a slight decrease in 0-60 time.
I think for 3k, it's worth it.
Not to mention that it would get you a new HVBJB quicker all things being equal.Don’t forget that the PE has bigger front brakes. That was one of the major reasons I got the PE. ??
I already have deep buckets in the wagon, and my wife complains about them (sitting too low, can't move because of the bolsters, too warm from feeling of locking in airflow). TBH I think it's because anything with bucket seats incites the drivers to behave a certain wayMy friend has the PE and if you are tall or wide or tall and wide the seats in the PE, I don't like them. Stage five clinger seats that are uncomfy. I have the GT and the seats are super comfy. So depends on what exactly you want. Comfy/Performance/X Factor.
the GT seats are so nice. I sat In the GTPE and the shoulder wings were definitely poking my shoulders. I’d still love to have Magneride but oh well. At least I got the PE rims for my “summer” tires. My friend has the PE and if you are tall or wide or tall and wide the seats in the PE, I don't like them. Stage five clinger seats that are uncomfy. You kid, but I had a Select before I bought a GTPE and I'll be honest, if I didn't selfishly want a quicker car and that was the only reason, I would have easily stayed with the Select and put the money saved into customizing it over the years, perhaps even a unique wrap.I'd go Select ?
