We'll have to see what Rivian really ends up getting. They put in more batteries than the MME, and they charge 10's of thousands more.

They do promise 300 miles on the smallest battery pack (105 kWh), but I'll be surprised if they get it on that config. It's an outlier to nearly everything else in the BEV market.

Agreed. I like the idea but don't know how they can get there -- even with an 800v battery.

Maybe they figured out some secret sauce (that costs $30k more), but we'll have to keep waiting to find out. Just doesn't seem to add up with most comparisons.

We see what putting a van body (eTransit) on the MME architecture did to range -- 126 miles (SR battery). I'd guess a true SUV or truck shape would be somewhere in between (~175?).

The E transit has a smaller useable battery pack (67KWh) which was purpose sized for their range target. https://insideevs.com/news/453716/ford-etransit-revealed-range-specs-price/amp/
Yep, the MME SR battery as I noted. Maximizing cargo (weight) capacity took priority for that type of van application. So they went with the lighter MME 232 mile battery. Nearly 50% drop in range with the van body instead.

The frame and motor may be different though. Not sure.
