Software Gremlins: "Drive mode not available"

I'm not sure which version I'm on, can you tell from inside the FordPass app? I think I'm on 4.1.2, got it the day it came out and just saw the error for the first time. I use Unbridle 1PD all the time. This could potentially cause an accident if you are used to the strong regen and all of a sudden the car coasts freely...

4.13 and have had this drive mode not available happen twice so far in past two weeks. Usually in unbridled and it’s goes to engaged. Can’t change. Stopping doesn’t remedy. Powering car off and turning back on remedied both times.

Mine did that as well right after an OTA. I switched it to Whisper and then to Unbridled after a few minutes and the problem never happened again.

Happened many times on my car. I used to think it was just the UI freaking out till last week. Was just getting on the freeway so I was under a bit of acceleration. I felt something "weird" where power cut at least in half for a split second. It made me look at my screen to see if my car was still on. About a second later that message came up on my screen.

So its effecting the hardware in some way, at least in my car...

Adding another one… I’ve been on 4.1.2 for a week and it’s happened three times now. I’ll be driving in Whisper and the car will switch to what seems like Engage. The drive feels different and the front display is changed as if in Engage, yet it’s not selected when I look at the drive modes (see pic). Selecting Whisper just keeps giving me the “Drive mode not available” message. Twice I’ve been able to select Engage, then eventually back to Whisper. Once I was unable to select any modes… which makes me wonder what mode it was driving in??

About 20 minutes into my 35 minute drive to the airport, all highway, I received the drive mode not available again.

i could feel the change while driving. When I stopped the car at the airport I was able to select the correct mode. I couldn’t while driving.

only started happening since 4.1.3 . So now I can access public Wi-Fi that I have no interest in doing, a step forward? And drive mode not available, a step backward.

Happening to my '21 as well. over the past 3 weeks ahs happened at least 7 or 8 times. i can see this being a safety issue if it happens at the wrong time, like coming into a corner, etc.

I have gotten the "Drive Mode not Available" error message now 4 times in the last 2 weeks. It happens while driving in Unbridled and suddenly and for no apparent reason. After about 10-15 minutes I am able to switch back. It's pretty annoying and unexpected when the car rolls more freely after letting up on the accelerator. I've had the car for 9 months and have the 4.1.1 software update. Judging from the number of complaints on this issue here and on the web, I hope that there will be an update that corrects this glitch.
