I guess the main question that comes to mind is if this is the update that they said would come in June that would address charging issues?

The secondary question is, does it fix “Drive mode not available” ?

So they're recycling the recall notes from the powertain updates from last summer?
Yes, we know the Ford release notes department loves to copy/paste text from past updates, even if it has nothing to do with the present update. They should have left the recall stuff out because that was fixed 2-3 powertrain OTAs ago, and the functionality hasn't changed this update.

BTW, OBCC is for DC charging only. AC charging is handled by the SOBDM.

This update is EA I assume so I'm going to cut them some slack on the release notes....

They don't change the release notes before general release. Sometimes the update gets pulled and later reissued with a new number, then the notes might change.

Yeah I thought they were talking about fast charging. Sorry, I may have missed that bit.

EDIT:
@Mach-Lee I just re-read the post..and they said "public AC chargers" which is I think what threw me off. I was thinking it was a public DC fast charger they were talking about not a "public AC" charger (which I know exist but I've never used one).

That's what I'm talking about - the updates which got new numbers when they went out to the general population got updated notes.

Been holding off for a while on PCSM and CMR updates but decided to take the plunge now that the PCM was available. Set the car to run for a while this afternoon to charge up the LVB, made sure FDRS was up to date, then paid for a 2 day license.

Of course when I went to pull the car into the garage to begin the notice for an OTA Software update tomorrow morning popped up.

I rescheduled it to Start Now. Shut the car down....and waited 35 minutes. Fail. Retry. Waited 35 minutes Fail.

Decided to do it myself after all. PCM didn't clear at first. Restarted Windows and FDRS. Took a while....just under an hour for the camera module alone.

Cleared all the codes and everything seemed fine, but got a lot of pop up warnings when pulling out of garage. Took it for a spin and every thing seems to have settled down. racodesn another check in FDRS so

I'm wondering if that range adjustment is part of what Ford just announced on the FordPass app:

I'm suspecting this is a server-side calculation but something is needed in the vehicle to complete the operation and display it in the vehicle.
I like the hill part. I wonder what it will say when I want to go over the mountains. I also wonder if it works the same when I’m using CarPlay for navigation.

I live on the side of a 14,000 ft tall volcano. Prior to the previous GOM teaks, my predicted range at 100% was always 208 miles. AWD ER. Cause it’s uphill both directions here. Here’s hoping it doesn’t revert to that.

I doubt the latter (or for Android Auto either). I bet it's the Ford nav only.

As for the mountains, it's pretty much just the NET elevation difference between charges that matters. The up/down in between usually evens out. But it's gonna need to know where the next charging stop is to calculate the net elevation difference.

My guess, anyway.

So far Apple map does a good job since it knows that I drive an EV and knows about the battery percentage at all times.
Using FordPass and Apple Map nets the same result.
I’ll check again when I get the update.

I had the same issue when trying to force the update to install "now". It said that the install failed due to another process interrupting or something like that. I'm going to let it do its thing at 3:00AM which is my default update time. We'll see if it can install then.
