When you have the painted ones just by installing them will actually put stress cracks in the paint. After one season they look like a rusty mess openly I have been buying a new set of lug nuts after every winter. These plastic covers over the factory lugs work perfectly.

I Think this is what I'm missing to fall in love with my GT again. 22's how does it ride if i may ask?
Like any ride with big tires. The ride in smooth toads is amazing. But bumps suck and you feel all the bumps. Larger wheels and the suspension are amazing! I wouldn’t change it back. But as we all know the mileage drops but so worth it!

My aftermarket wheels require the acorn style lugs nuts as they are able to use the OEM lugs if wanted. That said, these are the ones I have used in the past.

They are available in 1 3/8" long and 2" depending on the depth of the holes in your aftermarket wheels and what look you are going for.

As far as valve stems, I order my TPMS sensors with the black metal valve stems. I know you want to use your OEM sensors but I always sell my OEM wheel/tire setups complete so I need to buy new sensors. There is no programming necessary with these and at a little over $100 they don't break the bank.

Why did you go with the after-market TPMS sensors? I kept my OEM when I got my wheels and I don’t know the difference.

A few questions to those with aftermarket wheels.

What lug nuts are you folks with aftermarket wheels using? There seem to be 2 different styles.

The "Acorn" or "Cone" style .

The 'flat washer" style.

For the thread is M14x1.5 the correct thread pitch?

I want to use metal black valve stems and will be using the stock TPMS sensors. Is there a particular style of valve stems I need?
I kept with the OEM cone style. Seems to fit better for my wheels.

Chris
Hello all,

New to Mach E Forum and this is my first post!
I've been reading every post on this thread to try and come up with plan for changing out my wheels and tires. I'm changing them for two reasons:

Primary: I need at least 6in of ground clearance to get over the incline to my garage and the Mach E Select has 5.7in

Secondary: Looks and handling

My current setup: (OEM)

2023 Mach E Select AWD
Wheels 18x7 48mm offset, 5x108 bolt pattern 63.4mm bore
Tires 225/60r18 Michelin Primacy A/S 104H XL

Proposed setup: (would be square)

Wheels Fast Wheels Ev01+, 19x8.5 with 40mm offset, 5x108 bolt pattern 63.4mm bore
Tires 265/50/r19 Michelin CrossClimate2 110V XL (Fits 7.5 to 9.5in wide wheel, so I could go with the 19x7.5 44 offset Ev01+ as well).

The difference in diameter is 21mm or 0.82in, meaning I would gain 0.4in of ground clearance to a total of 6.1in. After plugging the numbers into a fitment calculator the diameter variance is 2.9%, and according to what I've read the variance should remain less than 3% or there will be ABS, and traction control problems.

I chose the wheels because from what I read the aero wheel should decrease the loss of range that I will get with wider and taller tires and wheels; they also won't break the bank.

What do you guys think? Will the proposed setup fit without poke (4cm difference between 225 to 265, plus the 7.5mm difference in wheel offset), or rubbing on wheelwell, suspension, breaks, components/fender? Will this ruin the car or at the least make ride and handling worse?

Any concerns or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
, bag it!!!! I’m looking into it and I think that would be sick!!!

Finally got my wheels!

TSW Bathurst 20x8.5 with Hankook ion EV 245/45 20 I got the Centric rings (or whatever they are called 72.1mm to 63.3 mm) and installed the OEM TPMS sensors from old wheels. Thanks to everyone in this thread for giving advice and ideas.

Love how it turned out!

Had the front completed with PPF at SCH Auto in Victoria m, BC and asked them to paint the calipers a custom blue.

The total was about $2500. $2000 was PPF install.

The wheels are Klasse GT4 which I’ve posted before.

Have a great weekend.

I wanted the white with the beige interior. I like what you’ve done with your ride. I love my First Edition…secretly still like the white!

Because I sold my OEM wheel/tire setup as soon as I brought the car home from the dealership. Wasn't going to take the tires off just so I could get the TPMS's. They are only $110 for the set of 4 and I sold the OEM wheel/tire setup for $1400

Ford uses Schrader TPMS sensors. You can buy from ford for about $50 per sensor or buy the Schrader sensor for around $21 each from rockauto. I started buying Schrader 33700 sensors, very helpful if you have two sets of wheels because you can clone the factory sensors. Also the 33700 won't move at highway speeds and cause vibration. Yes that's a real thing

I like that color and your wheel fitment looks good. Out of curiosity, why did you choose a tire size 1” taller than OEM? Did you need more ground clearance?

Thanks, vapor blue is a great color! I don't need extra clearance. I bought the wheels from EV sportline, and the 2 Mach Es they had pictures of had these tires installed. Their website recommended the 245/50s. After installing, definitely seems a bit taller than the other cars with these wheels. I'm considering lowering the car to compensate. As a bonus the dealership I work at stocks these tires and I get a discount. 🙂
