did you see the shitshow going on with the existing limited magicdock locations? i'm sure that is your answer why tesla hasn't rolled out more in the intervening months.
I hope you are right. I for one would really like to be able to use the Tesla network on road trips, but I am cautiously optimistic.

People keep mention brand T but there are other competitors that have now undercut the Mach-E.

A fully loaded Premium AWD ER is now $62K minus $3750 rebate. That is still more expensive than a fully loaded Ioniq 5 Limited AWD or EV6 GT-Line AWD (I argue the Wind AWD with tech at $52K is a great deal) minus the $7500 lease incentives or $5000 in cash rebates.

I argue the Ioniq 5 Limited AWD at $52K net is a better value than the Premium AWD ER at $58K net - and I own both. An EV6 Wind AWD with tech package at $46K net is fantastic value too. Why would anybody buy a Mach-E these days?

Ford is getting their lunch handed to them. I didn't even mention the crazy lease deals from Volvo or Mercedes.

Except, Tesla has already opened up their charging network to all in other countries (to comply with laws). I don't know if those chargers have longer cords than the US, but I wouldn't be surprised if they are the same length as the US chargers.
since i am not in europe and don't know specifics i wanted to get at least a little information before answering that part.

after a year of work only 69 (nice) of 153 superchargers are open to non-teslas. (source) netherlands is further along but still - it has been a year and it still isn't "all superchargers".

this article notes that the cords are still short at installed base v3 superchargers and an issue.

so, yes it is happening. but, even in europe with more government mandated stance, it is taking a long time.

Maybe sales drop because of the laughable subscription fee for blue cruise. Or maybe because of the loud wind noise coming from the outside mirrors.
Roll up your windows.

I thought that was illegal in Europe? Isn’t any EV supposed to be able to use any publicly available charger?

I agree that the Mach E looks better than any other crossover BEV on the market. As for "performance," that's highly debatable. Comes down to what you mean by performance and prioritize - charging? comfort? acceleration? software? efficiency? tech? etc. etc. Other models could be better buys depending upon what is most important to you.

Ok. But that's a fairly rare use case, no? I'd suspect that most BEV owners fast charge at least occasionally.
You should take a poll on this issue. Might be surprising to learn what’s important to buyers. Our used ‘22 Select had 1700 miles when we bought it about 3&1/2 Months ago. We’ve put on about 450 miles since mid-February.

We have NEVER charged outside our regular outlet in our garage. I think a lot of baby boomers who want to drive a good-looking electric car for errands, doctor’s appointments, shopping, etc. appreciate the MME.

We appreciate bypassing gas stations and supporting the green energy movement. We won’t be taking long road trips so, while fast-charging has its allure, it’s not been a high priority yet. And being retired with discretionary funds, we weren’t terribly concerned with the rebate (nice if we could have gotten it), but we paid cash for our MME.

Our basic Select suits us just fine. I’d be interested in poll results if someone puts one out.

In my state, the MME is about $15k more expensive than the similarly spec'd Model Y (after incentives).
Base model Y: $49k - $7.5k = $41.5K
Select MachE AWD: $48k -$3.7K = $44.3k

Are there other rebates or markups? Because I don't see how you would get to a $15k difference.

My comparison was MME AWD Premium ER (my own car) versus Tesla Model Y LR. And yes, my state (MA) has another $3,500 incentive for EVs under $55k.

Value is very important to me as a shopper, and I wouldn't buy an MME today. I don't think manufacturing delays are the reason for MSRP-priced MME's sitting on lots today, so I'm sure I'm not alone in thinking that $15k is just too much of a premium.
Same here .. if the prices were the same today as it was back when I ordered my MME (Feb 22) , I would have probably gone with a MY, even tho there were things I didn't like about .. doesn't justify 15k difference for me

I suspect a lot of the difference in EVs on road trips will depend on what a person has at home. We have the Mach-e and F-150, and the F-150 is typically our 4+ hour road trip vehicle. Not because of the charging infrastructure really (except for trips to northern MI where fast charging is rare), but because it's just super comfortable, even beyond the MME.

I imagine many MME owners also own another vehicle, maybe a family SUV/Truck/Minivan, and prefer it for longer trips.

We have taken our MME on one longer trip that required a DCFC, and it went fine. We had to take an alternate route and use a toll road because it was the only EA station between our house and Indianapolis, but the charging itself was fine. Where we stopped had food options so we just got lunch each way when we stopped and had more than enough charge by the time we finished eating. The 150kW thing is overblown in my experience so far. No car sustains their max rate very long and the overall averages for 10%-60% or so as far as timing isn't that far out of line for a 150kW car like the MME or a 270kW car or whatever, since they all step down from their peak pretty quickly. I would only really care about the MME rate if I was relying on DCFC weekly, as even a smaller difference on 10 minutes or so adds up in that case. But a few times a year? Meh.

As to road trips, we've been in 13 states with our Mach-E. Road trips require planning.
