It’s low and yeah, I would bet the number sold went way down due in part to…….. Tesla price wars.

The model Y price dropped $15,000 this year and became the #1 selling car on the planet in Q1.

No doubt the most direct competitor we have selling that many “stole” some potential Mach E buyers.
Agreed - I bought in April 2023 when the dealerships were finally ending markups but the full tax credit was still on. But then I watched as several vehicles - mostly Tesla - got new batteries w/ tax rebate eligibility and big company discounts. I love my Mach E, but given the newest Tesla prices, I would probably opt for a cheaper Tesla now.
Also the wild BlueCruise cost jump can't be helping - people HATE HATE HATE subscriptions, and this additional $8,000/10 years cost is the mother of all F-U's to buyers.

I just came back from japan, and all their drivers back in to parking spaces. Makes it easier to pull out. I think we Americans lack the skills to back into tight spots. Hence we pull in.
I think it’s more of an unwillingness to change

Tesla cutting prices and Ford losing half the tax credit really made it tough for them (and everyone else I'd guess). I've always stated before that replacing the old EV tax system with the IRA was a boon for Tesla and hurts pretty much everyone else trying to get in the market.

We can all see the results of that now.

GM doesn't sell enough of any new EV to matter, but it'd help them as well eventually, but primarily benefits Tesla and I still haven't seen any new GM EVs outside of Bolts.

If we were still under the old system, it's be easier to comparison shop a little bit more while Ford ramps up to LFP and has another few months, but as they say, hard to compete with free (or much cheaper).

I see 60+ MME at a single dealer around me so they should really consider shipping these to the east coast or other regions which seem to be still supply constrained. A lot of these are green stickers.

Glad I didn't pay an ADM and got enough credits to be easily happy with my decision still.

You may be forgetting that the "old EV tax system" was over/done/ending for *all* manufacturers as all passed the 200k vehicle limit. The Inflation Reduction Act was a small miracle that renewed the tax credit for another decade.

The IRA did change from focusing on EV adoption (by anyone no matter how insanely rich for any priced EV) to no longer help to buy expensive cars for the most wealthy people (top 5%), and most importantly, national/economic/climate security by encouraging the manufacturing of EVs and batteries in North America, which seems to have worked, like immediately.

that number does seem low but...

ford zero produced in january and 360 in february due to plant shutdown. they produced 7,381 in march and most of those didn't even reach dealerships until late may.

i'd be concerned if june numbers are low again.
Unfortunately they will be low! The price and interest rates are too high. Ford did put a rebate and rate program out but as long as Ford is competing against the big T.. Ford needs to scale up manufacturing and get the price down and clean up the software. Fords recalls and other issues are sure to really hurt them extremely hard. I sure hope things turn around soon.

It wasn't over for Porsche, Lucid, Hyundai, BMW (I think?) and pretty much anyone not Tesla, GM, Ford, Toyota, Nissan. Everyone else other than those 5 doesn't = "all" as you claim.

Add in VW, Volvo too?

I really don't give two flying sh**s about the sales numbers being low for the MME for a month or longer, and don't care what Tesla is doing with their prices. I love my Mach e and even considered purchasing a second one recently. I test drove the Model 3 and Model Y, and just wasn't impressed. Their software may be better, but the look and feel of the interior was cheap and bare.

Yes, having cheaper pricing and a full tax credit help them and are hurting Ford. But none of this really matters, if you love your car and you're happy with your choice, then just enjoy it and stop worrying about everything else. The Mach e is fun to drive, looks incredible and I have zero regrets about my purchase. As others have stated, I still have people asking me about my car and admiring it regularly.

I applaud Tesla for forcing their customers to back end park to charge. It’s clear this was a conscious decision on their part.
It could be argued that Kia/Hyundai gave it even more thought because having it on the passenger side allows for easier curb-side charging options.

Another thing to think about is for EV pickup trucks as is that the bed gets replaced on many work trucks, so you wouldn't want it back there. (not to mention the challenge of charging while towing)

I wonder how the trial of using the MME for the police force in New York is going? Seems like the market will change if they adopt them.

You think this has any factor…….my 21 GTPE from Carvana. At this rate, I won’t be paying Ford $29k in 18 months for the car.
Eighteen months and depreciated 50%.

charging a truck with a trailer - great point. That would definitely call for side charging. In my limited experience, most of the level 3 chargers I’ve used require my to head in park.

I think the only level 3 charger I experienced that would allow atruck and trailer to charge was Rivian one near Benton Harbor, MI that I couldn’t get to charge my Mach E. There was one charger out of about 4 that would allow a truck with a trailer to pull in and in and side charge, then drive forward out

I think my next EV will be a while, but charge port location will be considered as a factor in my decision making - with the rear being the most desirable location

Of course, checking Carvana for GTs and I only see 2 and they want 52k+. Maybe like zillow, estimated value is useless?

Yeah, my Ford Options plan ends in mid-2025 and it seems hard to imagine that it will make financial sense to keep the car at that point, though I haven't looked closely at the numbers yet.
