Same. Drove a Prius for 6 years and it was parked next to AMGs and M5s. Our personal experience doesn’t apply to the market.
That makes sense, I was coming from the point of value, but agree they never sold in volume because of the problem with consumers, sadly it's why so many people are saddled with debt, more people should drive bolts or older Prius than teslas or even MMEs.

I kept my Prius cause I never wanted to drive a Tesla and I was really concerned about the environment. But I give it to Tesla. They are doing so many things right when it is really hard to build cars (done that for 8 years).

Love my MME GTPE, don’t like Teslas for a variety of reasons, but that’s me. In the end though, considering that anything that converts folks to EVs quicker is legitimately better for the environment, and there are a lot of people who only care about price of the car as a deciding factor, this is good news.

There is bad news too with these EV price wars……..

It’s going to cost us early adopters serious money.

Just look at our resale values now.
When ADMs and price increases were the norm, I could have sold my 2021 GTPE for more than I paid for it.

In the last 6 months my resale dropped $15,000 or more.

They're actually marking down $2410 on inventory cars. Base RWD in white is $37830, minus the $7500 fed tax credit to those who qualify. It got me interested at this price and I took one for a test drive. Ordered a blue inventory car when I got home o_O

When I joined this forum, I had a 2019 dual motor and very gladly traded it for the MME. As much as I like to dump on Tesla, the 2023 RWD is vastly improved. Much nicer interior and ride quality, slightly quieter (but still not as quiet as the MME), but most importantly after a 1.5hrs drive I believe I can get or even beat the rated 272 range driving normally. And with the LFP battery, I'm not going to micro manage it and will just be charging it to 100% at all times. Whether that is actually good for longevity is up for debate.

Selling a PHEV for it so we'll have two full EVs plus another PHEV. I didn't think I'd do it, but at that price it is really hard to beat. If you can't beat them, join them. Ford and GM did.

Oh, don’t I know it. I bought my very slightly used (2.8k mileage) 21 GTPE on Feb 2023, off lot, for about 12 k less than MSRP of a new GTPE. It’s already worth 12 -15k less as a trade in from when I bought. I don’t have any intent to ever sell or trade up, so realistically, doesn’t matter to me.

If anyone thought appreciating car values was the new normal, that was an unrealistic expectation. Car values depreciate. Losing thousands on a new car the day after driving it off the lot is normal. Right?

No it is not! That is completely false information. Model 3 sold 240,000 vehicles last year to the Bolt’s 38,000. It is not even close. And M3 was way more expensive last year too. Customers are not idiots. They are willing to pay way more for a better car.
Yeah everyone can afford a model 3!!! There is NO ONE who can’t!!!! And I am not completely out of touch AT ALL!!!!

To be honest you are sounding unreasonable. How many of those Bolt owners couldn't afford a Tesla? Not sure why you are insistent on claiming people are buying inferior products even though they could afford more expensive one. You are out of touch with reality. Some people buy what they can afford and it isn't always a better product. Ever hear of store brands?

We said good bye a few posts back, but it seems like you’re incapable of disengaging, aren’t you? Just stop.

Your Post #27 " I’m done with this stupid thread." If you can't even keep track of your own comments everything you post is suspect. Are you done with the thread or not? Inquiring minds want to know.

Take away the image of Tesla
What? Doesn't EVERYONE want to own a 2009 Mazda 3? Or 2009 Phat Mazda 3 on batteries?

I've looked at replacing my FFE with a Bolt only because, newer/cheap. But thankfully my wife said she wouldn't drive a Bolt or Leaf so that leaves a 3. But I'm not going to spend $15k more for a 3 so it can become the gym car. If I could find a used 3 for sub $20k, yeah maybe. Tech and all that panel garbage aside, taking away all the knobs and vent controls would probably send her into therapy.
