Well the service advisor cannot see the list of updates that FDRS shows from his screen in PTS. Only a tech can see that (in FDRS).

So what's happening is the service advisor checks OTA screen...."nope, nothing there. I guess there aren't any updates!" When in actuality the car isn't getting updates because there's a problem and the service advisor can't see it. This is a perfect Catch-22.

Ask the service advisor to call the tech up to the desk and explain why you have all these updates available but you aren't getting OTAs that other people have already gotten.
Thank you so much! The service advisor said he would get the shop foreman to get with Ford Engineering and see what they advice. That sounds like a good plan, right?

It's interesting to finally see a UK (or EU) MME with a Sync update in the list. This is encouraging.

I'd definitely start with the APIM first before diving in to the powertrain items. Don't be alarmed if you get Stop Safely Now and all sorts of dire emergency warnings on the IPC or in FP. These alerts are entirely due to the interruption of network communications and the resultant DTCs are cleared by running targeted self-tests at the end of the updates prior to you disconnecting from the car. Post back if you have questions or concerns.

Thank you! This is somewhat interesting as I'm 80% certain that I carried out most of those updates just a few months ago, but I didn't grab screenshots. I wonder if when I carried out these updates it "didn't report back" somehow.... I guess I'll get that license and check it out in that case, thank you.

I recommend you call your service advisor and ask them to pull up your OTA dashboard and tell you what the status of any OTAs are that they see there.

You do have a TCU update in your list of available software (which I believe should be the same thing as PowerUp 4.2.4).

If they say you have no updates pending or in progress, well that's a problem too. Cause that TCU in your list is definitely something that should come as an OTA...and a diagnosis should be performed to discover why your updates aren't downloading or being processed.

Here's the list of available updates:

I also recommend checking and adjusting, as necessary, your "Check updates" schedule in Sync to settings I've talked about numerous times in this thread.

If anyone has time to run it: 3FMTK3SUXMMA10901

Just picked it up used and it appears to be pretty far behind on updates.

14 Jan '21 build date, Job 1 car.

Does this car even have working BlueCruise? The reason I ask is that on all '21 models that BlueCruise updates were applied to to get it to work last year the IPC was updated that one time, but has not received an update since. So it looks to me like, among other things, this car never got BlueCruise at all (yet). That should be a freebie update.

That TCU in the list is also a clue that something's going on with the ability of this car to get updates at all. That should be diagnosed and corrected along with at the very least getting your BlueCruise working (it's free).

This is the largest backlog list I've seen in a while.

To recap; You're asking the service advisor when we can get the car in to have BlueCruise programmed (if it's not working currently), and also asking the service advisor to pull up your VIN in the connected services tab of PTS and look at the OTA Dashboard to see the status of any OTAs. If there are no OTAs in the last 60 days, he/she would have to agree that with all these updates in your list (including a TCU which we all know updates OTA) a diagnosis needs to be made to find out why you aren't getting updates.

Oh and just so you know, the service advisor is going to say "You're up to date!"...because they can't see the list of all these updates in their PTS system. It's the techs that have the FDRS system that can see this list. So you may have to show it to the service advisor.

Thanks! Yeah, the thing that made me check was the lack of Blue Cruise. I got the modem reactivated yesterday, not sure what happened there, and today I got an OTA update 3.5.4.2, so I'm hoping some of these updates start coming through. I'm not looking forward to dealing with my local dealer. Do you think since I just received an OTA that more are likely to come or should I make an appointment with the dealer. Also, any chance you can see that I just received an Ota? I'm not afraid to bite the bullet and buy a mongoose and a FDRS subscription. I'd just want to know the likelihood of me bricking my new to me mach-e. ?

Thet's the service writers way of passing the buck. It normally is just a circular file. Seen it when I worked on the floor.

When you say you got the modem reactivated yesterday....are you talking about the car's built in Wi-Fi hotspot? Or something else?

And as for whether or not you should make an appointment with the dealer the answer is yes. You need to take advantage of the program that Ford is offering to get your car's BlueCruise activated properly and let a tech do it. They're getting paid for it and it's long overdue.
