After laying down 50,000 miles in 2 years.. a sweetheart deal on a Lariat Lightning appeared so we traded off the twin turbo Flex monster for the Beast Lightning. Pays to have good contacts at a dealer as the preordered truck appeared and original orderer bailed. I was the 1st on the salesman’s speed dial the same week the $10K discount appeared. If the original order had left 2 special order items off it would’ve qualified for another discount!

The Mach E’s shoes were worn and with summer gone in about 2 months it needs new skins for the S.O.‘s safety. Maybe 10K barely left, and wear is from a couple 35-40 mph corners taken daily at… 50-55+ ????. Tire pics for your pleasure.

One other odd thing. Battery health now shows 94%. Go figure. Gained .65% sitting in our garage for a week ?!

I’ll maybe checkin every now and then but Lightning ⚡⚡ ⚡? ?? wind ? beckons!

50,000 miles at 42 psi. Rotated every 10K which is not enough! 5-7K better.

Congratulations and good luck with the new truck! I'm holding out for the electric Expedition some day, hopefully soon. Although, I'm afraid of what the price might be. ?

That’s some amazing miles on your tires.

Yours at 50,000 have less wear than mine at 7,000!
My GT tires have over 30k on them now and they still have decent tread remaining. I am very surprised considering how I drive.

I’m all city and a very short commute (half of the commute time I’m in a parking lot), so it’s very hard on tires. But this is a new (bad) record for tire wear.

My last car (Chevy SS), I got 16k miles out of the stock tires. I‘ll be lucky to make it to 10k on these.

My man, those tires are shot. Like, right now. And, looks like the alignment might have excess negative camber because those inner shoulders are too worn imo.

Follow an MME down the road. They’ve negative camber on the rear. Really means 10,000 mile rotation probably too much and it’s really hard to get 55,000+ miles on them. I also picked up a nail in both right side tires.

Time for some Michelin PS4S or Conti EC Sport summer tires. Each have 30K treadwear warranty. Should be like 5-6 yrs worth for you.

Understood, I meant excess as in out of spec, but, who knows without throwing it in the rack and getting out the lasers, right? We have 30K on my wife’s 4X Continental ExtremeContact DWS06 tires and with only rotations every 10K the inner shoulders are at 6/32s just like the center rib and outer shoulders.

I wondered about that but after following an MME and then looking at a 2nd one, I suspect ~1.5 degrees negative camber planned as it is really planted in the corners. I’m not saying I’m right. I did drive three VWs back in the day with horrible positive camber!

Similar boat here, the Pirellis got shredded and I’ve never even been to a track or xcross. I’m at <6k. I’d love to know what replacements you’re considering, I can’t wait for the Hankook Ion EV (summer) to hit racks.

Probably Michelin PS4S. Had them on my last car and the traction was amazing.

Went from spinning all the way through first gear and the shift to almost dead hooking on the street.

I rotated the stock tires at 6k (fronts worse than the back) and had an alignment done just in case but they barely changed anything with the alignment.
