Well that was weird. Anyone ever had the trunk and frunk simultaneously pop open on their own?

I had just parked and powered off while sitting in the car. The car shook a little bit. It kinda felt like I ran into a curb or someone tapped my bumper, but I was completely still parked with no contact. And it popped the trunk and frunk open at the same time without me pressing anything. It was the weirdest thing ever. Anyone ever have a similar experience?

The bugs on this car are weird, but that's down right insane and unsafe if I didn't notice it and manually close everything.

Ok, I've read about the erroneous trunk opening (thank goodness not me) but never heard the Frunk and Trunk at the same time.....That is a new one.

Of course, since I have a '21 not sure my Frunk could open without me pulling the lever.

I have a 21 also and only recently figured out that I could do it using the keypad on the door. But apparently it will also open whenever and wherever the car seems appropriate.

Super rare bug that's happened to a couple people. Usually it's the trunk that opens, but if you are extra lucky then both trunk and frunk open at the same time.

Remind me how to do it from the keypad?

Is this similar to when you have a particularly violent flu and project from both ends?

Hey there! Can you please send me a PM with your VIN and dealer name/location so I can look into this frunk & trunk opening concern for you? To send a private message, just click on our username and select "Start Conversation". I'd be happy to see what I can do to assist!

I know you will try to send them to their dealer (like always).

But in situations like this, do you report these bugs to Ford directly? No point in going to the dealership if there isnt a fix.

No. It wouldn't matter if I did, I'm currently waiting on parts and a follow-up appointment for other issues with my dealership for over a month. Respectfully, you haven't been able to assist with any previous issues. Ford has so many departments regarding this car that no matter who you call in to get help, they will no doubt blame it on someone else and forward you to another department who does the same thing. Pass the buck and repeat.

I know right, like I wouldn't have thought of that one on my own.

Their job is to just make a log of all the complainants and put them in a database so Ford can search them later and keep track of how many people reported an issue. And sometimes forward issues to BEV team, who then contact you. They cannot directly help you, it's sort of like feeding a bot.

If you do need a service appointment, they are helpful “greasing the wheels.”

For me once before they set up a service ticket, service manager called me directly and I had ZERO pushback updating all available modules for a list of random bugs I had (and they didn’t even have to duplicate them as I had pictures and videos).

So it was helpful. But in this case I doubt there is a fix yet.

I suspect a ghost. Did you buy it used?
