Looks like a smaller EV9, and it looks really good. Kia needs to increase the battery capacity because the EV9 range is pitiful. No specs yet. Concept video just dropped today! The production EV9 looked very close to the concept so I'm sure the EV5 will be too.

What is the EV9 range?

300 miles maximum (single motor variant, upgraded 99 kWh battery pack). 0-60 time was something like 7-8 seconds in that configuration, I think - approaching Prius levels, pretty much, although electrical vehicles are usually punchier at the beginning of the acceleration curve. The performance version with dual motors will supposedly have a 0-60 time of 5.3 seconds, but I believe the range drops to 260 miles.

240-290 miles, but the 290 mile range one has a 0-60 time of ~ 9.5 seconds.

Unveiled today, will be sold exclusively in China initially, before coming to the US as a 2025 model. Battery capacity looks unremarkable, will use 77.4kW battery.

I'm saddened by hearing about all of these neat EVs that are either China-first or China-only. The Volvo EM90 is an example of a vehicle I would buy instantly that was also recently announced, but it seems it'll be China-only... what happened to the US? I thought we were the biggest deal for the automotive market, but it seems we only get SUVs these days, and we're not a priority when it comes to EVs. I know the reports keep saying that the US only buys SUVs, but at this rate it sort of seems like a self-fulfilling prophecy...

But if it’s still just a drawing, I still consider it to be “conceptual.”

More like the designs were unveiled, but the car is still vaporware.
