I wonder how the numbers change if the rules were leveled? As in available to all trims and same cost. I personally think the number of colors is more than enough, just the color spectrum choices tend to be bunched in the Black/Gray zone. I totally understand the marketing for having a 'exclusive' color for a top end trim like GT/FE, and it probably lean those purchasers towards those color.
I think a lot more grabber blues would have sold

You have about 70% of the orders red, blue, and white. I agree more paint options are better, but from the company's standpoint, it shows what is selling.

That chart says it all. Over half the sales are just 2 colors. And they're the only "color" colors that are available beyond the special trims (GT and FE).

Replace Infinite Blue with Velocity Blue and I betcha that plus the Red would combine for over 60%.

Love the Mach-E overall, but they kinda disappointed on the color offerings. Too many colorless colors and not enough actual color. And I'm not one that likes the flashy colors (I don't care for Grabber Blue that much). But I'd love some rich colors like Velocity Blue (or Lightning Blue or Atlas Blue), Sedona Orange, Dark Persion Green.

But it did make the decision easy (Rapid Red, for lack of anything else).

Comparing to other BEVs is one absolutely legitimate way to look at this.

Comparing to other Mustangs is another, completely legitimate way to look at it, though. This page has 11 colors including the gorgeous dark blue I love (Kona Blue on the Shelby GT350). Looks like when I go into the configurator, the EcoBoost has 13 colors total:

In the big picture this is not the end of the world or anything, but it's still a legitimate criticism of the Mach-E, in my opinion.
In my opinion this would have been a perfect lineup of colors for the Mach-E. Even if two of the colors (say Twister Orange and Grabber Lime) were reserved for GT only models there would still be enough variance of choice in the remaining colors.

Is this Rapid Red listed here the same as on the Mach-E? It looks darker on my screen than the photos of the car looks.

Hats off gentleman. We lost a good one here. I figure since the Ev move has a lot of talking about speed and 0 to 60, The mustang.. hence fast and with the name Mache. Kinda just felt right to post about this great American.

May be you are right.

But a VIN is available on the car once on the road. So if I see another MME and get the VIN from it if its parked at say a Walmart, I can add it to my Ford Pass - dont know how much damage I can do. Atleast based on the image, I can see some basic info? Now I am not going to bother with other MMEs but what would prevent some one with malicious intent to mess with my car or say someone else's.

I am sure Ford would thought of all this - but kind of makes me pause and think.
I can’t say how Ford protects it. My point is that once linked, I doubt there is a proximity requirement for the phone and the app to work. PAAK, yes, but not FordPass.

Our (actually my wife’s) choice of Infinite Blue Metallic is an OK compromise. I love the Graphite Grey Metallic on my 2015 Acura MDX and she liked the Blue on her 2013 Prius so IB showing grey in dark light and blue in bright light works. I still want Rapid Red though! Can’t complain too much because our 2016 Fusion Hybrid is Ruby Red tricoat.

Don't think white, gray, or black stands out enough?

Go for a Coach inspired, designer wrap. Or maybe something with a little more bling. Whatever suits your taste.

Seems to me Ford got the color breakdown about right:

From here.

Personally I rather like the Orangish colors. Really loved the Autum Orange 98 Ranger I had. Looked like this one except it was an XLT so had black plastic trim (bumpers, grille, etc.):

As far as color is concerned, I would have really liked a dark moss green, like I had on my '67 mustang.....awhile back "desertdrifter" had done up mme's with different colors.....the one he did up in the dark green was perfect for me....brought back many memories....

Sure, but those are for ALL cars - guaranteed if that list was limited to sporty cars the distribution would be different. When you're driving a camry or plain-jane SUV you get it in plain colors because there isn't anything to accentuate. When you've got a sexy shape the color should accentuate those curves!
