Welp, I am almost on day 70 with no car! I had Ford customer service involved since day 1, the dealership keeps giving them promises of dates that my car will be ready and those have come and gone 3 times now. This all stems from the SSN, SVS issue. The dealer says it was a dead 12v, they only have so many techs who can work on EVs etc etc. Now they won't even return our calls. We passed the 50 day mark for rental coverage, so I bit the bullet and bought another car. I am so frustrated between Ford Motor Company and the dealership and no one seems to be surprised at either that my car has been in the shop for an exorbitant amount of time. I don't know what recourse I have at this point but taking the legal route. Has anyone experienced this madness? @Ford Motor Company this is on you, get your s together and hold your dealerships accountable. I am so glad I wasted almost $60,000 on a brick that has spent almost 10% of the time we've owned it, in the shop!

Just call the BEV team and ask them to initiate a buy back. I have heard from a few people that they have had success. I'm not sure the laws in your state, but in California it's 30 continuous days in repair that triggers the law.

Like I said, many people have DM'd me and said they had success. If that doesn't work then hire a lemon law attorney.

Totally ridiculous!!! I would attempt a Buy Back as suggested or go Lemon Law. Something is not right with your situation!

I feel you. I also bought a back up car if that could make you feel not alone. Last week, I was driving forward for a while with a back up camera image (freeze image) was still on the screen. I was lucky enough that I did not hit anything or anyone when I was backing up the car not knowing the screen freeze. As a member here said that he/she is expecting the similar remedy to bolt situation. I wish you luck with the buyback.

Wow, I thought I had it bad. My car has been in the dealer for 2 weeks due to the "Pre-Collision Assist Not Available" alert, which also causes any form of cruise control not to work. (BTW, that alert appeared after my last "update" at the dealer, immediately after driving away). I have been told that it hasn't even been looked at yet, which is very disappointing. I do like the car, but after having owned Cadillacs for almost my entire driving life, I see a huge difference in their service. I was always given a loaner, even if it was for a few hours and my car never sat in the dealer for weeks without even being looked at. I know it is new technology and kinks need to be worked out, I am patient with that but not having any consideration on how we are supposed to get to work without a car (after spending 50K on one) is absolutely ridiculous. Never mind the comments of "buy a Ford, lol" from my Tesla loving brother. Sad to say I should have listened to him. Looks like I will be trading it in once I get it back and will probably take a huge loss. Will never recommend Ford to anyone!

Why does it have to sit at the dealer while waiting for them to look at it? Can’t you just make an appointment and drive it until then?

Well, sounds like a good point, but I made the appointment to bring it in 4 weeks prior. So I did drive it with the constant annoying alerts on my dash and no ability to use cruise control during that time. I called multiple dealers in my area hoping for a sooner appointment and they all said the same, so I took it back to where I bought it.

My MME was in a dealer for 1.5 months and I literally saw it sit on their lot for 3 weeks straight with no work being done it while spending more in gas than I have spent on electricity for the year. Some dealers are bad. Some are good. Right now it’s at another dealer and so far they are way better with communication.

In my case my 23 Premium that I had for five weeks, has been at the dealer for 47 days. The South Carolina Lemon Law states the car must be repaired or replaced if the dealer has it for 30 days or more. I hired an attorney who crafted a letter (you can do it without an attorney) that states I am enacting this law and they have 10 days to repair or replace. Certified letters went to the dealer, Ford Corporate and Ford Credit. I am currently in the 10-day waiting period. I also have an open case with the S.C. Consumer Protection Agency.

Good job, I hope you get some action.

I read your story, and it's really dumb that Ford will have to initiate a buyback because the dealer was too dumb to plug in and charge up the car when the battery got low. That will be an expensive lesson.

In 2021 I had one that refused to charge. Check your lemon law in Pa. Ford bought mine back with no argument. When I requested a buy back the ford contact handled it all.

The worst!!!! I do feel a little better about the decision to purchase another car ?.

I am so embarrassed that I was so high on the car when all of the naysayers talked a bunch of crap on EVs. Now I’m walking around with my tail between my legs. ???‍♀.

Communication is helpful but it doesn't get me to work in the morning. Ford would have much less complaints if they only provided a loaner.

Ohhh yes. On a few of my other posts, I was writing about how I have had an issue with my liftgate since owning the vehicle where water gets in and drains out of the liftgate handle. The Mach E is my only vehicle. I have to have a loaner to get around. I waited 5 months to get a loaner at the dealer that I purchased my MME from and when I went in they didn't have it. Ford Corporate said there was nothing they could do. So I raised hell at the dealer and they got me one the following week. The only issue was that they didn't fix all the issues. They gave me back my MME after 1.5 months with a liftgate that is still broken.

After calling 10+ dealers around me ( I have a list) I was able to find a dealer that had a loaner for me, not just any loaner but a Mach E! I was excited that my loaner is a Mach E and not an ICE. Long story kind of short, my Mach E is still with this dealer after almost one week and my experience has been night and day from the other dealers I have been at.

I hope that you can find a solid dealer that actually cares. I messaged a few people in my area to find a good dealer on this forum and that was helpful.

Ford corporate needs to do more to make sure you get a reasonable service time and a loaner for major warranty repairs. What happened to you is mostly a dealer issue, but is still unacceptable and Ford should have some clout about it.
