By reading this board you would think the purpose of EA is to give everyone advance notice of how bad the next update is and make fun of the update notes. I wonder what percentage of people complaining actually gave Ford feedback before running to a message forum?
People "run to [this] forum" because Ford does not currently offer a useful means of discussing problems with Ford. There is an EA email address which, to my knowledge, does not furnish responses. The forum allows users to not only share issues with Ford, but with each other, which allows for more effective diagnosis and troubleshooting. Collaboration also leads to better suggested fixes and enhancements.

If Ford were to, just hypothetically, create a forum-type environment for EA members to discuss issues among themselves and with Ford, that would both be helpful to Ford and also help keep things a bit more confidential.

Regardless, sending out a powerup to EA members isn't covered by an NDA, anyway. The EA members are just typically first in line. When Ford offers testing to EA members which is expressly covered by NDA, they've done a good job of abiding by that.

EDIT: Or just maybe we can go back to arguing about things that really matter — like whether we got the wrong battery, the GOM, or why I still don’t have a remote frunk release. ;)

It had been mostly fine before this update.
I don't have this issue at all, weird
Yeah it's an issue that may manifest itself at any time. So correlation does not equal causation in this case. It's one of those bugs that isn't everyone, but a higher percentage than what is acceptable.

I know some people simple had the wrong type of USB C cable that couldn't supply data. That was bound to happen though with how USB C. However Apple is aware of a software issue causing it.

They do, and it’s not just the few (semi) known Ford employees and the official presence.

As for any EA NDA, perhaps someone a bit more ambitious than me at this early hour (UTC -10) can pull up the most recent agreement and post it in all its glory. Then we can all see whether any, some, or all of us are violating any, some, or none if it.

We could argue about "the wave " but at this point I think some of us might just wave with 1 finger ...as if Santa isn't watching ?

I don't have this issue either (so far).

The wrong type/cheap USB-C cables are common with many people I know. They complain their phone doesn't connect properly or their data doesn't transfer or charging is erratic, etc. I never have these issues with a good, name brand USB-C cable.

Honestly the USB-C cord-type situation is a mess. Especially if you wanna do fast data transfer like recording 4k directly to external drive from iPhone 15 Pro, that's whole special USB-C cable that can handle that.

I just find it comical that 90% of the people hyped over BC are the same ones swearing they would never pay for it. There's literally 50 pages of temper tantrums.
Well, I definitely won’t pay for it since my car isn’t capable of using it. ??

Part of what I used to do was engineer high speed data cables. After designing them I used to have to travel to the plant(s) to ensure that my process was understood and adhered to. There is so much more to good cables than copper and insulators and there are so many garbage cables (USB and otherwise) out there. I never really know until I cut the cables apart to inspect them. ?‍♂?

Probably a couple more months at this pace before we have BC 1.3 functionality.

Last time BC 1.0 was added it was 6-7 OTA updates. So far we’ve had 2 updates towards BC 1.3. Which means we probably have 4-5 more BC 1.3 updates coming. At two weeks per update you’re looking at 2+ months before BC 1.3 is fully done.

That is unless the pace of BC 1.3 updates increases to match the pace we had with BC 1.0, where at the end I was getting an OTA every day for the last 4-5 updates.
Ford needs to fire whoever is giving the timelines for their updates.

Maybe Ford should, hypothetically, survey it's members on interest in an EA forum. :)
