This afternoon I got a phone call from purchasing dealer telling me about this “recall.” (sic) They offered me the mobile service at my home. I’ll call them back tomorrow and see what that brings.

So if it is not on FDRS dealers have no alternate access?

REASON FOR THIS PROGRAM
...... software does not have a transfer function that predicts the charging port pin/terminal temperature. Some customers indicate that their battery may not fully charge and/or the charge cord may become stuck in your vehicle. Customers may also experience a burning smell or melting of the charge port pins.

Is this what has been done we have been transfer functioned ? ? Is this the software of early June and it brought in a transfer function monitor so they would not melt or have a burnt smell? Pins q-tip cleaned shinny and straight to me. Nothing wrong with the connection to date that I can see. No problems L2 charging to 100% never felt it stuck melted locked. Guess I will eventually push my dealer for them to show me they can get 40 48 amps steady and prove me wrong.

Just a couple of bugs left.

When cold just want to plug it and forget it; fire off a departure schedule when I plan to take off and it has 40 amp.

On some vehicles, faulty on-board charger software (SOBDM) may not respond to elevated charge port temperatures (due to a bad connection) appropriately, causing the charge port to melt. This may cause the vehicle to stop charging and the cable may be difficult to remove if it has melted. The fix will be a powertrain software update at your dealer or via OTA.

I'm a little confused with this one because new SOBDM software has not been released in months. AFAIK we're still waiting for a release in FDRS to fix derate and charge paused problems, so it may not be worth going to your dealer yet. There hasn't been a powertrain OTA mentioning 23B50 in the release notes yet either. Mach-E owners will be notified starting Oct 30th, I would wait until after that date before going to the dealer.

I called my dealer this morning and they could give me an appointment tomorrow morning, I declined as they did not have a loaner and scheduled for 11/14

So, I had the mobile service come to my house this morning for this CSP. It was a great experience overall. He showed up on time and knew what he was doing. The tech said my car apparently already had this installed. Got a frunk button out of it though - thanks to you guys.

I don't even know how I missed this. I went in for a fix to my coax cable on my cam today. Told I needed to get this updated (don't) and there's another recall they are doing about my parking harness or something which I really don't know anything about.

I tried booking this 2 weeks ago at my local dealer. Just got a note back from them yesterday saying they don't do this at the dealership. I'm in the LA area. Does anyone here have any experience with a dealer that is equipped to do the update? TIA.

Received an email from Ford this morning about this. Oddly the hvac is also listed despite receiving an OTA update for this twice now to address it. I guess the only way to ensure these are handled is to bring it in.

Hmm, I wonder how you already had it installed?
