Maybe they're trying to get the new recall software for your car.
I could very well be this. Still, quite the new one on me: waiting on software updates to get my car back. ? I remember the days of waiting for my phone to get the latest updates. How times have changed.

Just took my Mach E in for a blown HVBJB today. I beat the rush on parts.
I don’t think that the existing parts solve the problem. From NHTSA "RemedyFORD MOTOR COMPANY IS WORKING CLOSELY WITH ITS SUPPLIERS TO PRODUCE PARTS FOR THIS REPAIR. WHEN PARTS BECOME AVAILABLE, "

Also, we had our HVBJB replaced some time back, and the NHTSA site cites our VIN as being subject to this new recall.

I think you are right. When I spoke with my service advisor yesterday, he said based on info they have thus far, it's a different part that is currently not available and the software updates are currently not released either. It's not the same part they've been using to replace existing failures. We also had our HVBJB replaced a while back, and our VIN shows up in the NHTSA recall site and Ford recall site.

The only thing that makes me question this is they are not replacing post May 2022 manufactured Mach’s and they have the current part. That being said I would be very pleased to have an even more new and improved part installed!

Why did they only recall up to July 2022? Did they change the part in my Aug 22 build?
We think so. However, that was probably only to the 2nd generation HVBJB. It sounds like they may be developing a 3rd generation.

The post May 2022 junction boxes still fail, but they don’t seem to fail catastrophically without warning the way the earlier ones do. Ford is being forced to replace the earlier junction boxes because they have the potential to result in a loss of motive power. It seems to be in Ford’s best interest to introduce a revised part to make sure these 30,000+ junction boxes won’t need to be replaced yet again, but it doesn’t make financial sense for them to preemptively replace the post May 2022 junction boxes because most of them seem to be fine. I don’t think it’s the best way to do right by their customers, but Ford has repeatedly shown that they aren’t terribly invested in doing right by their customers.

Which probably means I'll end up replacing the HVBJB that they just installed yesterday.

For what it’s worth, this article says; “Owners who received the previous fix will still need the new replacement.”

https://electrek.co/2023/10/18/ford-mustang-mach-e-recall-impacts-35000-vehicles/
The “previous fix” was the recall software. They are not referring to a warranty replacement of the HVBJB. That said, there will likely be a new software component to this fix along with a hard part. The thing that is unsure is whether the hard part will be new and improved or the same as what was put into my car just over a month ago. The assumption (and hope) is that it is indeed improved. ??

That would be a pretty significant change as that would require modification to the cooling circuit. I doubt Ford would do that.
Yes it would be significant.

I am HOPING that if it becomes clear that enough Owners understand and demand the 'real fix' to both the HVBJB failures and the infamous '5-second' output limit (which we all now understand is a programmatic attempt to avoid the same thermal problems..... that @Ford Motor Company will design a next generation of HVBJB, with plumbing and sensors, to actually fix the real problem with themal management.

I'm betting they have already been doing so, for the next generation of Mach E.

nice summary actually.... but leaves me wondering what is changed inside the v3 HVBJB.
Meh. Same information is in lots of places and they have a glaring error in their title:
Ford Mustang Mach-E Finally Gets A Hardware Fix For Overheating Battery

The battery isn't overheating.

When the headline is wrong, question the rest.
