I think the Ford OTA experience is only negative when owners have a lot of information about updates ahead of time, i.e., everyone on this forum.

I'd wager that the average (non-forum member) owner barely thinks about updates, if they think about them at all. They are probably happy to see them when they appear (if they notice them) and then never give them another thought.

We are impatient because we all know too much!

100%... There are those who want to always be on the latest version no matter what. However it seems Fords current system isn't catered to that at all. It just means they need to be patient (or learn what that means). I still highly discourage using FDRS though for updates too. Those tools are meant to resolve issues. Messing with the way Ford OTA system deploys updates may set them back further in the normal channels than just letting it do its thing.

Got 6.2.0 three days ago and just got 6.3.0 tonight. Interestingly when I started the car after the update SYNC took fer-ever to load. Easily 8 or 10 seconds. I was already in Settings to double check the update and saw "Alexa" and whatever comes after that slowly appear.

Weird.
Do you have a Job 1?

I wouldn't use FDRS mostly because I'd be afraid I'd somehow brick my car. Plus, the hardware is too expensive. No thanks! I'll wait for OTA updates.

Where in the Cities are you, Alan?

So we've got a Friday update the last 2 weeks right? What are the chances we get 6.5.0 today? And What are the chances that it's the final update that enables Bluecruise 1.3?

John must really be devoted to the forum. Midnight and change. ??
One of the many benefits of being retired. One of the many downsides of being (temporarily) one-handed with nothing else better to do ?

Are you going to be able to make the Bay Area meet-up on the 11th? ??

I am pretty sure we will get an update later in the evening today, though I could be wrong. This update might enable BC 1.3, or it might be the last module update before it is enabled.

So is the issue with all 2021s or just Job 1 cars?
All 2021 OTA deployments are on hold at the moment, Job1 and Job2. Updates have not been pulled so doesn't seem the issue is with the actual update files, so likely just a tweak to the OTA deployment.

Based on the prior BC 1.0 rollout I saw some posts that estimated that the following modules would need to be updated for BC 1.3.

GWM - 6.1.0
APIM - 6.2.0
TCU - 6.3.0
SCCM - 6.4.0

IPC
IPMA
CCM
PSCM

If they continue updating a single module in each OTA, there are many releases still to go.
