- Unclear if it's BC 1.3
- Unclear if they used BMW's Highway Assistant or only Driver Assistance Pro (HA is supposed to be much better)
- They have a short video of their test loop and it looks like it's missing heavy traffic, so it can't test the Blue Cruise weakness noted by Edmunds (inability to auto lane change in heavy traffic).

Interesting that they chose not to test Tesla FSD and only autopilot.

If they rank by current price & features, Ford will tumble in January.

Local dealer told me they heard BC was always supposed to be $800 a year "Just like Tesla".

Maybe because FSD is still in Beta?

Unclear if they tested enhanced autopilot or just the base autopilot. I suspect they're just testing the "base" versions from each manufacturer.

Even so, 8th place still has to sting.

Makes some sense because Tesla is trying to do it with less/worse sensors. You can only achieve so much with cameras.

Tesla’s system is rated as very capable, a 9/10. Even better than BC.

It’s all the other categories like safety and ease of use that kill its overall score.

The article is an interesting read. Some of those systems sound quite bad. Stopping lane keeping completely without telling the driver? Letting the driver go over 2 minutes without input before turning off?Without input turning off completely and just letting the car go at speed in whatever direction it was headed?

Yeesh.

However I do like that some other systems will stop the car when the driver stops responding. It’s good BC slows down a ton to 6 mph, but it would be better to stop completely.

Oh, and the fact they like lane keeping on BC suggests to me they’re testing 1.2+.

I do not understand why the ADAS response to a persistently unresponsive driver would be anything but keep lane centering on and bring the car to a gradual stop. It's much easier to provide medical care to a person when they aren't rolling down the road in their car at 6 mph. As a bonus, turn on the hazards, and maybe honk the horn for added attention.
