My AOSK rear spoiler keeps coming loose on the left side , so I need to remove it and re-install. Is there a best way to get the remainder "unstuck"? Heat? Cold?

rubbing alcohol diluted down would be a good start. Start with like a 10:1 mixture and dribble it down the front of the spoiler and see if you can keep gently prying on the loosest side.

I was told (years ago) the best way is a heat gun and dental floss. Heat will loosen the adhesive, the dental floss will cut through it but shouldn't be too abrasive to damage paint.

However, I'm no detailer so others may correct me if I'm wrong.

Same, but I would use fishing line instead of dental floss.

I had the same issue on both ends. It's apparent the 3M tape provided by the manufacturer wasn't up to the task. I removed the spoiler (a little heat and Goo Gone) followed by alcohol to provide a clean surface. I used 3M 94 primer https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0088P06AS?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details over the area the new tape would go (it did not affect the paint) and 3M VHB Heavy Duty double sided tape https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0B876FN78?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details&th=1 . That combination seemed to do the trick. It's been about 2 months and everything has remained in place.

Fishing line, depending on the thickness, can get marred up and act like a little plastic saw up against your paint.

Been there, done it. You can use incredibly thin line where it will snap instead of get rough...but then it's not a lot of help.

Its works better when you're on a flat surface and pulling it. When you're on an angle like our hatch...it's going to dig.

I much prefer the chemical approach for a bigger piece like the spoiler. The other issue you'll run into is if you lift one side, the other side will dig into the paint. It's probably a two person job.

What about "flooding" the still stuck area with alcohol to try to release the adhesive tape?

You have two options, the first is to use diluted alcohol here (I would advise starting with an 8:1 ratio as 10:1 is unlikely to be enough). The second is the safe use of a tanner, they are instead of floss or string I recommend guitar strings they are more robust, solid and precise, so maybe they will help you.

heat gun, fishing line to remove spoiler from the car. Once it's removed, clean the old stuff off with a plastic razor or elbow grease while heating the adhesive and get the excess off with "goo gone" or rubbing alcohol. use 3m double sided HD (it's red) to reapply after cleaning both mating surfaces with rubbing alcohol and you may want to use an adhesion promoter.

Thanks. When I took my Mach E in for the annual inspection on the PPF and ceramic coating, they did it for me free of charge.
