I can go 150 miles using 10-60% on my CR1, at 70-75mph. My Rivian does the same. I am typically last in first out at chargers. On my latest trip of 750 miles, I did it with 4 stops, averaging 25 minutes. We ate at 2 of those stops. I skipped many chargers.
That the CART1 gets 150 miles on just 50% is why the GT needs faster charging! I'll get probably 210-220 miles using 90% of the battery at 70-75mph which puts the GT about 30 miles behind the CART1 with every 25 mins stop. That adds up real fast over the course of a day!

Well, after an exciting flurry in September, Magic Dock upgrades hit the wall again. Only 1 MD station added in the last month (Northglenn, CO). And that was a brand new station, not an upgrade.

I was afraid this would happen. Same thing they did in February - add a token smattering of MDs, then nothing for months. A few random stations here and there don't really do us a lot of good. Better than nothing, but rarely does it happen to be the string of stations we really need on a road trip.

A few V4 stations have opened, and they have MD holsters (with credit card tap readers), but they haven't activated the MD functionality on them yet. They're just Tesla chargers for now.

So, that pace of MD upgrades we were hoping for doesn't look like it's happening anytime soon. We're back to anxiously waiting on the adapters in the Spring for significant help. ?

Tesla opened up the new site in Glendale AZ, V3 with the Magic Docks installed. But they have NOT enabled the docks yet. Seems to be like some of the new V4 sites. Maybe they are waiting to see how busy they are.

For a couple of weeks, I was eagerly checking the deployment maps but with the lack of new MD locations it’s been disappointing to look.

If the new V4s get activated for MDs, I’ll be keen to see how that works out. I saw on X that some permitting has already gone thru to change out an existing V3 to V4.

Where in Glendale is that? There's a fairly new set of Superchargers by Dave & Buster's at Westgate, but that isn't the location in this pic.

59th and Northern, in the Lowe’s parking lot. The Westgate site has been open for over a year and is always full.

With the risk of DCFC bottlenecks ever present, and the cost to build more DCFC capacity very high, two mitigating solutions come to mind...

First, end the practice of free, unlimited DCFC! It just incentivizes people that don't actually need to DCFC to tie up DCFC capacity and create more bottlenecks.

Second, we need way more hotel, apartment, and destination L2. It's way cheaper to install than DCFC. You can install more than 100 L2 chargers for the cost of a 2-post DCFC station. Start the day with 300 miles and most people don't need DCFC more than a handful of times per year.
I get downvoted for mentioning this on the ioniq 5 forum lol

Good find as it is not on my Tesla app-yet. I'm about 30 miles away and will travel by this area on Thursday. The address should be 2661 Freeport Rd, PIttsburgh, Pa 15238. There is a Target store at this location. There is a large grocery store next to it with gas station with convivence store foods/drinks called "GetGo". I will try this out and report back on the pages. Not planning to do a 20 to 80% fillup.

It's not on my app yet either, but it's on the webpage. Hopefully just too new rather than a misake. Can't actually use it until it shows up in the app, of course.

I just found it on the webpage. There is four DCFC EVGo charger stalls about two blocks away at the Sheetz station that I was planning to use. We will see on Thursday what the story is.
