It's January 16 (2024): Update on BlueCruise 1.3

Updating this thread from November 10…

16 weeks ago, back on September 22, @Ford Motor Company announced: "Over the next few weeks, the software package to enable BlueCruise 1.3 will begin to roll out through multiple updates. Please note, this process can take several weeks to complete."

Updates stopped in early December and, since then… nothing. A handful of especially well-connected folks got 7.0.0 and upgraded BC, but nobody else.

In this thread, let's post updates (meme/gif form preferred, obviously) on what we've heard from @Ford Motor Company. I'll go first. Here's what I've heard...

The difficulty they expected in rolling out BC 1.3 was signaled by Ford more than 6-months ago when they pushed all the free-trial dates out to 12/31/2023.
(Regardless of what people on this forum or Ford press releases indicated that it would be here sooner)

Look at the bright side. Our free trial will be extended to end of '24, in 4 quarterly extensions. They'll figure out 6.2.0 by Dec. Halt 6.3.0 in Jan...and so on.

Harvard Business Review had a webinar yesterday where someone shared how VW botched ID4 OTA updates and had every car off the assembly line connected to a laptop to run updates.

Their CEO got fired shortly after. In his farewell speech, he predicted that many more will suffer the same fate. Not sure if he was talking about CEOs, car companies, or both.

Not something I would be proud of considering the issue that 6.2 can cause. Those without 6.2 are better off for now.
