I’m at about the sell point. I love my car, but this is too much. I already lost it for a month last year or so due to the BEV issue. And the times for the windshield recalls.

Took my ‘21 Job 1 in yesterday for 22B28 and 23B50. While there they also did two TSB updates.

When the car was returned, it popped a frunk system error when started. Didn’t even make it out of the lot, took it back. left overnight.

They fixed that but (according to dealer) now it shows “stop safely now” messages. I was told they’ve recalibrated and re-updated the module but it won’t self test and needs replacing.

So once again I lose my car for an indeterminate amount of time waiting on a part. From routine service, and that never should have been handed back to me.

I expected hurdles with a first year first EV, but this is too much.

I’ve got a case with the BEV team, and my free rental paid by the dealer, but I can’t keep doing this. My good humor is all gone.

You won a new customer Ford, and drove me away.

Hi there! Will you send us a message with your VIN and your local Ford dealer? I can look into things on my end.

The frunk error notification is likely because they updated the GFM without doing the BCM (or vice-versa). That’s a dealer tech issue but frustrating nonetheless. ??

The SSN could be due to any number of issues. Without the Diagnostic Test Code, there is no way of knowing what’s out of whack. ??

It wouldn’t surprise me if it was their fault, but at this point it seems messed up enough to need a part replacement so I’m without my car yet again.

I'm not gonna lie, I'd be upset. But, stuff happens and if you at least get a loaner and the cars under warranty I wouldn't worry too much.

I had a love/ hate affair with a 2004 CTS-V. It was a first year car and had a few issues. The main one was the differential was improperly cooled (fixed with bigger fins in 2006). Anyway, my car was at the dealer a lot and it irked me, but when I actually had the car, I was overjoyed. I ended up selling it a few years later before the warranty expired, but there are definitely times I miss that car.

I understood early on. Taking multiple tries for the BC install, doing the windshield install, etc. I was annoyed at the HVJB issue but I knew the clock was ticking, so it wasn’t a big surprise when it happened.

But I’ve had the car two years now. They have the MME and Lightning.

And I can’t trust that taking my car in for updates the company says I need won’t end up with me losing it for a week+ That’s pathetic.

Slight off topic but if your car is at an authorized dealer and having warranty issues etc for a month does Ford waive your payment? Paying for a car you can’t use?!

Typically no, especially if they give a loaner. I was without my '23 F-150 because they delivered it with the rear exhaust misaligned and blowing into the bumper. It took them over a month of ordering parts, and waiting on those parts, before they fixed it. The truck wasn't safe to drive so I couldn't have it back. They gave me an XLT F-150 at least while I kept paying on my Lariat. But it sure beat not having anything. If they couldn't get me a loaner I would have definitely pushed to try and get at least a month waived. But not even sure it would have happened, I have seen many with longer durations without a vehicle that didn't get much more than an apology and a wave.

YIKES

I am going in Monday for some software or module testing. They asked if the can have it over night. I sure sure bit longer and I’ll need a loaner. “We do not have loaners”

My dealership “doesn’t have loaners” and “hasn’t for a few years”. But they contract with a national rental company and just provide those. Try asking for a rental.

With that much trouble, you may be looking at a buyback. Email Ford BEV with your situation. They may want to avoid a Lemon Law buyback so they can get a clear title. It's not just Ford - all the manufacturers are in the same boat with issues.

I am surprised that this isn’t considered for a buy back yet, OP?
