We hit the open banks early and ordered a 2021 GTPE fully optioned. Oct 2021 car was ready for pickup. Our dealer was told several times our car was not to be used as a test drive ev on the weekend since the car would be ready on a Monday. The car was not washed not fully charged and paperwork needed to be completed. We waited over an hour, stuck with a untrained unkept salesman, service person was told everal times we wanted the Ford ext warranty and at time to sign contract he slipped in a third party warranty. I asked why when we wanted the Ford. He said he grabbed the wrong form. We didnt even finance the car and it took over 2.5 hrs. The car was washed but look like they didnt use water or soap and was really bad with dry dirt streaks. I checked for scratches and luckily none seen. Got in the car to leave and saw 100% at 200 miles with 70 deg temps. I called him out from the office and asked him why at 200 miles and 39 miles on odometer but 2 miles on temp title papers. Excuses, lies and we left in a hurry so angry. We checked trip history showing 1.5 kwh on a 37 mile trip racing it that weekend. Manager never returned my calls. Last time I went this dealer and gave them 1 review. Bought a 2023 Model Y AWD long range and took us 30 minutes in and out. Never buying from a dealer ever. Tesla was easy, professional staff and great follow ups in the weeks that passed. My wife said it was because we are in our 70s and treated like were idiots buying a ev.
Please don't take this the wrong way, and I am sorry you had to deal with all of that, but it sounds like you sat through all that anyway, e.g., you didn't immediately leave. That being said, you ultimately voted with your dollars which is great! I do hope you didn't buy FSD or "boring bricks" or any of the other scams that Tesla sells though.

I took the time to read every post in this thread, and I have to say it has been more enjoyable than any other thread in a while!

Can't we all just get along?
I know I can, the only reason I’m here is purely for the entertainment value. If I can poke a Tesla hater and get a reaction in the process even better because honestly I could care less! ???

Cybertruck vs. Hummer EV Drag Race!! It's not even close. Hummer weighs a bit more though.

I love instant torque but when did the only metric that matters for cars become acceleration, especially for trucks? And at what point does the government step in and regulate? I am not excited with all of these 10k lb trucks doing 0-100 in 5 seconds, frankly if this had been the status of cars in the 90s my friends and I would have never survived. Sadly I am guessing we are going to see a sharp rise in serious accidents, similar to FSD deaths that I imagine will require government intervention.

Agreed, but the EV masses seem to only care about straight line 0-60. And yes, EV on ICE car accidents are going to result in more injuries and fatalities unfortunately.

No, I’m not kidding and how would I know what’s in someone else’s mind when they post something? It would be pure speculation and conjecture on my part.
Don't be like that. I NEVER said anything close to 'Hey, what was the guys state of mind' or anything else so silly.

I can't believe that I actually have to point out the reason YOU had the wrong price was because they guy in the other forum was TRICKED by Tesla into thinking the 'project savings' price was the actual price.

Oh, I knew exactly what you were saying and although you are most likely correct only the poster knows for sure.

I find it fascinating to watch how the new and the legacy automakers approach this market. Historically it is on par with Sears and Roebuck catalogue displacing general stores, or Walmart driving locals out of business. No guarantee the disruptor will prevail but it will certainly be interesting and the overall market will evolve. Hopefully for the better.

I don't care much for Musk but there is no denying he is an Edison or Henry Ford level innovator. Both those men also had rather dark sides.

I think the Cybertruck will be Tesla's Edsel.
