A couple of weeks ago I posted an image of my car with a sign that my family arranged for my birthday, in October. That thread received, and is still receiving, amazing feedback and comments and it makes me happy to read it.
https://www.macheforum.com/site/thr...be-50-i-am-50-and-dont-call-me-shirley.32049/

The response to that post (which took me me by surprise) was so great that I thought... I haven't seen, at least not in some time, a poll of Mach-E owner ages on MachEForum.com.
SO, let's do that.
Positive comments are welcome and encouraged. Let's have fun.
I'm excited to see the results!

Two Rules
1. Current owners and order holders planning to buy only, please.
2. You can change your selected age range if you have a birthday.

@DevSecOps , I understand this has been done, and that is the case with many posts by many people.
That said...
- Those threads have to be searched for as a result of not being participated in for some time. A new thread brings the poll to the front, and more prominent pages and will have newer, more accurate information for now.
- Some of those polls include participants that may have sold their cars and are not active here anymore, making them less accurate.
- The details of polls differ. They may ask for different age ranges than someone's new poll, one may not allow participants to update their choice, while others do, another may ask for anyone that has ever owned a Mach-E, while others may specify current owners and order holders planning to buy.
- New owners/members may not be aware of the old threads and not everyone does a search before posting.
- New content and member interaction is good.
- etc., etc.

As someone who moderates a very large public forum I would disagree. Duplicate posts create a poor experience for the end user and the board as a whole in terms of search relevance.

While this topic is benign, having for example, 5 posts all describing how to install a dash cam can lead people to fragmented information and make things more difficult to find. Forum etiquette across all boards is always to search first and only create a post if one doesn't already exist. Creating a new post because "people don't search" is only contributing to the problem.

Since I routinely try to help people who don't know how to search here's a tip for those people. Search in Google using a site reference. Here's how:

age of owners poll site:macheforum.com

By including the "site:macheforum.com" you'll get results only on this forum. It makes searching for things much easier since Google is far better and figuring out what you're looking vs the native forum search.

My point in posting the links wasn't to create a argument about there being prior posts, you kinda led into that. It's only to xref the other posts that ask the same general question.

I might add that for a poll of ages, it's better to use birth years rather than age numbers. That way, the answer I give today will still be valid after my birthday next month and for everyone for years to come.

@DevSecOps ,
We'll agree to disagree.
The thread that I referenced in the initial post here was a fun and positive member conversation. It had great comments, made people feel good, @Ford Motor Company participated, and gave somewhat of a snapshot of certain age groups.
My hope, with this thread, was to carry that fun and positivity over to a new thread about age that fellow friends/members of more age groups could enjoy... and learn more about the make-up of the community at it currently stands.

Bro, I'm not trying to ruin your fun. I was just xref'ing the same basic polls. Your 50th birthday post was unique and not at all a double post.

Like I said, this is a benign topic so no one really cares. How many times do we see the same "I lost 30% of my range" posts every winter. If those people would search then we wouldn't have people bashing on them and if there wasn't 1000 posts about it maybe they could find their answer as to why and prevent them from creating another topic on it.

Have your fun, all I did was reference 3 other polls that asked the same thing.

Good idea. I think we've used similar logic and reasoning with some things at work but I did not remember that here.

A forum is for PARTICIPATION . Without new or "reused" topics it dies .
Don't want tp participate ? DONT .
Why do we keep rehashing this ?
I can see why we don't wave to each other . Bunch of grumpy old farts .?

We've got more 50 plus than 49 and under. Maybe the kids are in school, or their parents are busy chasing them.
On that note, I'd love to see if any members are rolling Mach-E Baby trim with the baby seat, stick-on window visor/tint, etc.

I always smiled at the advertisements in the early days showing a beautiful empowered fashionable mixed race young woman driving her Mach-e to the Gym, to the wine bar, to other desirable destinations etc and yet I only ever see crusty fat grey often weirdly bearded old men like me, except for the beardy bit, who can afford them driving these cars around ?

This survey reminds me of a comment left in my "What Is That?" thread. The responder told a tale about being at a Chik Fil drive-in window with her husband in a Model 3 Tesla, and the teenager working the window asked if they were rich.

The age numbers here paint an economic picture.

You should do another thread about household income.
I believe @DevSecOps made a point on some previous thread about Ford not marketing towards youth as does Tesla. A short duration forum survey is not gospel but it does go along with what he had previously shared about some differences in the demographics in EV ownership between Ford and Tesla.
