Activated my 3 month Bluecruise trial and used it on the M25 and M40 on and off during a 160 miles trip. My thoughts are whilst its good it really isnt worth £18 per month. It steers the car well but to me its just adaptive cruise with steering funtionality, nothing more. One thing I did find is it actually improved my concentration, i had just got back from a 12 hour day flight so not uber tired but nevertheless I found myself more focussed, maybe this would change after you got use to bluecruise though.

I really cant see how Ford can justify £18, and cant see it being popular in the UK as unless the motorways are pretty dead its like adaptive cruise where you end up fiddling with it all the time.

I think you get this part for free. It's a eye camera and hands-free aspect that requires the subscription.

If I wanted the hands-free part bad enough, I'd tape a water bottle to the steering wheel before paying $75/month. And to be honest, I'm not convinced it would be much less safe. The absurdity of paying $75/month for this feature is mind-blowing.

I find BlueCruise quite useful, as my daily commute is almost entirely hands-free with it.

That said, I have no intention of paying $800 a year for the feature. £18/mo (USD $23) would be near my price point.

For me, BlueCruise handles the highways, curves, and traffic everywhere except when I am changing from one highway to another. If they added the ability to navigate, it would be worth buying. Pulling in/out of a parking space unattended would clinch it for me.

So let's get this straight, they charge us 3x more for BlueCruise in the USA than UK?

$22.90 vs. $75

The total area of the UK is just over 93,600 square miles, about 40 times smaller than the US, and there are 11 states which could fit the UK inside them.

Size matters?? ?

Only 50 km of mapped roads in the UK. It's a small country. ;)

OK Ford, can I just pay for a couple states of BlueCruise instead of the whole 50?

I use "hands-on" BC for local driving and "hands-free", BC 1.0 about once a month when I go off-cape. I kinda like it, but for me it's not like I'm not driving...it's just a differnet kind of driving. Instead of steering and maintaining speed I always seem to be managing my position around other cars; adjusting the spacing settings; adjusting my desired mph, etc.

If everyone else was using it I expect that would be great, or if I'm on a less trafficked highway, but sometimes I don't even bother because I feel more stressed in trying to let it do it's thing (which it does not yet do well enough). In bad weather...? No thanks for me.

My '21 Job One is on BC 1.0 and it's trial subscription runs out the end of this month. I'm at 6.6.0 Power Up (with a handful of recent downloads as well) after getting no OTAs since mid October. I received emails and paper mail in July stating that the latest BC was coming. Yet, I am being urgently solicited to dump an amount of cash in for an unfinished product that isn't fully developed (behind by two point releases), and no firm commitment for when it will arrive. That is all bass-ackwards from my perspective. The flow of updates is/has always unpredictable even as my vehicle is always in readiness on home WiFi with a permanent schedule for download. It is a sloppy and ambiguous way to run an operation, IMHO.
