IMO, adaptive cruise and lane assist is fine and the simple addition of being able to sometimes take my hand off the wheel is not worth even the discounted price.

Based on the videos I've seen, 1.3 isn't really enough of an improvement to change my mind, and since it appears that they aren't going to give me that upgrade to test out before my trial runs out this weekend, I'm not even tempted.

The only thing that would be interesting to me is If they were to added things like the Tesla autopilot visualizations so we could get better feedback on what BC is doing; that might be tempting at the $600/3 year price, but I can't think of anything that would make me pay $800/year.

What happens when Blue Snooze expires? Does the car simply do adaptive cruise control and lane keeping assist when you activate both functions at once?
Technically it’s called Lane Centering (Lane Keep Assist is a different feature), but yes, that’s what will happen. LC/ACC will work but you won’t be able drive hands free anymore - the steering wheel torque sensor will nag you for input after about 8 seconds. BUT the eye nanny will also likely stay active even if you let your sub lapse, nagging you if it doesn’t detect your eyes on road for about 5 seconds.

I've got a 2023 with BC1.3. It works great. But it's "her" car, and she won't use BC. So I won't be paying $2400 to renew for three years. Conversely, my Lightning doesn't have 1.3, and included BC for three years. I wish they'd get it updated so I get the 1.3 features that I love on the MachE!

This sounds perfect to me and I don't know why anyone would want any more bloated software in their car.

"Self driving" is a party trick to amuse your kids but gets dumb after the 3'rd time.

I too hate subscriptions as part of a vehicle. However, Ford was clear from the beginning that this feature would be by subscription only. Your post implies bait-and-switch. If that is your intent, it’s just not the case.

As. Job1 owner, I took the $600 deal, because it’s the one I expected when I purchased the car.
I would disagree with that, as I had to pay around $2000 for Bluecruise package and no where on the window stickers or order form did it say for 3 years only.

I wouldn’t expect they would. Certainly would be nice. At least transfer to another Ford vehicle. I think the interest from a used car buyer would be close to zero.

Just picture how quickly a dealer would shrug when you tell them, but it has blue cruise!

The model is changing from the car-buying model of the past. The feature of BC comes with yearly licensing that Ford has to pay and software upgrades just to stay current. They could give you assisted cruise control in that model, but not BC. Pricing software development 5 years from now is not something shareholders would likely agree with.
Why do I need to continue to pay for what is installed in the car?

If I am happy with the way that it works, I should be able to maintain that level of functionality and only pay again if I want something new. Safety updates are a cost of doing business and should be baked into the initial price of the product.

Car manufacturers are just trying to condition owners into thinking subscriptions for certain features is the "new normal".

If you are counting on Monroney labels being everything you need to know about cars, you’re going to have a bad time.

Monroney labels don’t include subscription costs. You paid for equipment attached to the vehicle, which is required to be listed.

Nah I appreciate non run-on sentences but clear as mud is right. I do want to make it clear that I'm not trying to make a fuss about all this. I just wish the additional fees were more transparent at time of purchase. I know due diligence and all that...I get it.
I don’t disagree. Trey were clear to job 1 owners but that was because we weren’t getting something. I’m sort f surprised there isn’t a “optional hardware and additional subscription required” type of statement.

It doesn't say anywhere that BC is only for 3 years for those that paid the $1600-3000 package: Based on my reading, the 3 years was only for the 2021.

2021 F-150 and 2021 Mustang Mach-E customers will be able to purchase BlueCruise software – including a three-year service period – for $600 in the second half of 2021, when it’s ready to launch. Hardware pricing varies by vehicle.

For F-150, BlueCruise is available as a part of the Ford Co-Pilot 360 Active 2.0 package for a total of $1,595 – $600 for the software and $995 for the hardware. The Ford Co-Pilot 360 Active 2.0 package is standard on F-150 Limited and available as an option on Lariat, King Ranch and Platinum models.

For Mustang Mach-E, BlueCruise comes standard on CA Route 1, Premium and First Edition variants. It’s an available package on the Select trim for $3,200 – $ 600 for the software and $2,600 for the rest of the package – as part of the larger Comfort and Technology package, which includes features such as a 360-degree camera, heated front seats and heated steering wheel

You guys even have the option? BC is banned in my country (Norway) due to regulations (hands - free is no-go) ?
Speaking of subscriptions; I’m more concerned that in 2027 even the navigation system will be locked behind paywall. Under subscriptions the NAV is listed as a paid (yet included in a limited time until 2027). Will be a fun aftermarket for this car when you will have a car without NAV / updated NAV and hands - free (where allowed) features. What’s next? Not having the ability to fast charge past L2 speeds unless you either give Ford your moneys or your first born son?

Can you show me where it says that BC is subscription only? Here's my window sticker:

You bought your car nearly a year later. A 10 second google search about your future $70k purchase would have revealed this was a subscription. You posted here inquiring about ground clearance before you purchased, so research is not outside your abilities. Ford never obscured that BlueCruise was a subscription add-on.
