It would also be helpful if Ford’s BMS in this car was not hot garbage.

Since I recondition mine it has been in the 80 to over 90% range now for quite a while. The web site helped me flag it sitting in the 40 50's and fix it.

I think credit goes out to Mr. G again

Reset your 12V battery learned values to ensure the battery is fully recharged while driving.

Here's how to do that:
Press the start button without stepping on the brake.
Flash the high beams with the stalk five times, and then step on the brake pedal three times, and after that, check the red battery icon on the instrument panel to see that it flashes three times.
And then shut the ignition off. And then you can turn the car fully on and drive off. Your 12V battery should then fully recharge (if it wasn't doing that before).

The root cause for the delay I experienced installing the Power Up 6.6 update was a low level SOC of the 12V battery. Having the SOC in a convenient place like Ford Pass would be helpful to ensure my Mach-e is prepared for future OTA updates.

Yes but seeing how responsive FordPass is without it, I'd imagine a 12V battery check would add an aditional 3 minutes to the API call. Also who knows what they'll break if they try to add something new.

Just a decent 12v BMS would fix the problem and we'd never need to know. Unfortunately since FordPass is just about as a hot POS as the 12v BMS is, I'm not sure having it there would be worthwhile, but I'll take what we can get.

I think it would be cool if by pressing a button you could jumpstart the 12v using the HVB. Just a thought.

The 12 volt LVB structure should be upgraded in future EV's to 48 volt and have much better battery management.

Our sales guys did not think we would have any problems with the LVB, he showed me where the port to the frunk is, and watched me open it once.

Can’t get excited about 12v battery.

Stangy maintains it, I don’t care about it, when/if it fails, it fails, and I’ll deal with it once and only spend time on it then rather than constantly worry about it, froth & let its condition ruin my life??‍♂

I used to be apathetic but now just lack interest and enthusiasm?

It’s already in the API, it’s just not visible to the end-user anywhere in FordPass.

Don’t read this instruction at four in the morning after a few glasses of wine????

Yes if they can place it on our vehicle dashboard on the web site it should be an easy mod to show it beside the TPMS in the fordpass app.

Appears the majority would not object to it being buried in the vehicle status drop down box. Would be a lot better than having to plug the OBD2 or use a volt meter on the battery itself while ensuring the car is sleeping. The philosophy that we never need to worry about the 12V in this is EV has come and gone.

Never had a 12V last the life of the car and if it can be monitored it may help us not get stuck. At least when to recondition it.
The Widgets monitored 12v, but widgets no longer work.

Do you really need to know the level at all times? Why not just get alerted if when:
a) 12V state of charge is low
b) 12V voltage/health is low (which I think there already is an alert for, might not just be tuned right)
c) An OTA failed to install or cannot install due to the voltage being low enough

Ford's 12V battery management strategies aside, constantly monitoring the percentage I would venture is more likely to cause customers who don't understand the nuances (which is most, since this forum isn't representative) to be worried about values they don't have any real reason to be concerned over, nor any recourse to change other than just driving the car.
