The ones that had this recall done twice prior to it being a recall should our parting gift's be in the mail? ;) That salt hurts.

Edit: Just noted a different revised D part to the C we received. What trim is your?

Dealer mileage will vary tremendously. Some don't even have a Mach-E capable mechanic on staff. Some dealers will absolutely never have a loaner or free rental of any sort.

Ford pays for the rental, so it should be acquired from a 3rd party company.

This talk of a new phone charging mat has me intrigued. Has Ford come up with something to make the cell phone charger usable?
I sure hope so. It has never worked on my 2021. I have a rental 2023 on a trip this week and it does not work either

That's a decent gift of 30k points ($150). I've got 107k right now worth $535 towards ford stuff.
Almost enough to make me want to spend the $600 on the Air Design front lip, almost.

Does it get super hot and do you use wireless AA or CP? That'll drain the battery faster than the 5watt wireless can attempt to charge, even if you get your phone lined up just right and take the case off.

Might be late to the party here but I got the recall early notice and was told there’s no HW solution yet only software and that they haven’t received guidance from Ford yet on full replacements. Did this change recently??
Dealer needs to look at December dealer note, not October.

I'm guessing the "new charging mat" is just a thinner rubber insert. I've always speculated the distance created between the thick mat and a phone case is probably what causes the heat/slow charge rate.

I have no actual idea what it is though, and also curious what you'll actually receive.

That and with the camera bumps on phones, the space becomes even larger. I wonder if the new mat has a lower front so that the camera bump sits down, allowing for the phone to lay flat against the charger. That would help a ton.

Same have 105,K points here.

Would love the extra 30K points bump!

Wish my '23 was on the HVBJB recall.....

At least I have enough points to pay for the NACS-CCS1 adapter....

I

I’ll buy you a beer if I get any kind of “gift” from Ford on this. The broken parts are still not in.
I know someone else at AN St. Pete has their scheduled and were able to get that part in ahead of schedule. Seems like the gift is from Ford and not the dealer, should come through once they complete the work and send it off to Ford.

The recall notice said you’ll be notified when you can bring your car to the dealer. My notice now says:
Parts are now available to repair your vehicle. Ford Motor Company has authorized your dealer to replace the high voltage battery junction box, and reprogram associated modules, free of charge parts and labor. Please call your dealer without delay and request a service date for recall 23S56.

I suspect you are correct if they are letting you install it yourself, and no, it won't fix the issue. I tried the AOSK mat, no difference, my iPhone 13 pro and now iPhone 15 pro just heat up, not charge (I've had the so-called software update to fix this as well). My wife's iPhone 12 mini charges just a little bit. And I've tried without any mat, no difference. It's not important enough for me based on my driving pattern, but it will be for others.

No need to "speculate" haha, that's an easy test, right? I've never had the feeling that it has anything to do with the distance. Even if I remove the rubber matt entirely and remove my phone cover, I still can't get my iPhone 14 to charge.
(In Ford's defense: I think this is more the fault of Apple with their new proprietary charging "technology" or whatever it's called. My old iPhone X was charging perfectly fine in the car and as far as I know most non-apple phones also charge fine.)

But I agree with you that this would make sense. I don't understand how they could send us a "new charging matt" that could be anything other than what you're saying.
