I suppose we all choose a comparison to suit our own end, some choose examples with comparable 0-60, some similar seating capacity, size, weight and so on, and then there are those who choose examples do make a point either the never-to-be-EV-convinced ICE-man continuing to convince him/herself that EV can never be cleaner, cheaper, easier or better in any way than ICE cars, there will be EV protagonists doing same the opposite way and all their calculations and angles are interesting.

My own criteria is what alternative vehicle I’d need to carry me and all the tools Stangy hauls around to my jobs.

My last vehicle which I used as an example was the Outlander PHEV which averaged 48miles per gallon and Stangy beats that reasonably well, if I used the 20mpg for Porsches etc I’ve seen cited would mean Stangy’s economy would blow them away.

Oh, and I don’t use subscription-based leccy in my calcs because I don’t use that way of buying power and never found a fuel company to sell ICE gogo juice by subscription.

However, whatever the results, I can forgive Stangy almost anything when I just take a step back and look at it………..

I am not sure if anyone includes taxes in the equation, but Virginia puts a huge extra tax on BEVs to make up for the loss of gas taxes.

Government sucks.
so glad we won't hear you complaining about the quality of the roads at any point in the future.

Wait is that comment political?
mike makes sure he's the first to get his dig in so he won't be the one blamed when the thread gets closed down.

Well, I am trying to be better. I had more to add to that comment but then deleted it prior to posting. What I originally included was much more likely to generate responses.

Indeed, my annual registration is +$240 or so just for EV.

I would be interested to see your calculations how the Mach E beats a 48 mpg car.

I’m assuming you’re saying when it charges at home exclusively though. That seems the only way. The thread was more about DC charging cost comparisons though. No way you could beat a 48 mpg cost DC charging.

Ah, I didn’t pay attention to the flag. ?

Math is for sure different outside the US.

Good luck justifying a BEV in Venezuela!

ā€œAt the other end of the spectrum, Venezuelans pay just 1.6 cents for a gallon of gas, the cheapest price on the planet. Those living in Iran and Libya also pay less than a dollar per gallon of gas, at 10.8 cents and 12 cents, respectively.ā€

Everybody does this nowadays to show how cheap their fares are, such as airlines, hotels etc
My favorite are the 'resort fee' for hotels (yes, I am staying at your resort), and 'broadcast fees' for cable (yes, broadcasting channels is why I pay for cable).

It's like one of Chris Rock's bits:

"People (he doesn't say 'people') want to get credit for shit they SUPPOSE to do!"

$9.70/ gallon for premium. That’ll do it.

But I believe I read a few articles where the cost of electricity in England is also becoming outrageous in some areas.
Because government sucks.

?

But seriously. Their electricity cost is artificially high because of government policy.

Now I have done it. And I am trying to be good...

Break it down into cost per mile. Like Ken did above. It isn't difficult.
Edit to add. Ken i consider the difference between .16 and .20 cents to be a very big difference. Thats just me.
oddly enough, I bought an EV because it’s good for the environment, not so, I could save a few cents on fuel charges
