2025 Porsche Taycan (Holly Crap)!!! Range King and Charging King!?!?

I am just looking forward to when this degree of efficiency and charging shifts from "holy crap" to standard in most EVs.

Less than 3 mi/kwh on the test. Is that supposed to be a holy crap moment?

OMG, the prototype 2025 Porsche Taycan is looking like a BEAST!!! 365 miles/charge and 8%-80% charge in 16 minutes!!! Is that even possible? I may not have even made it to the restroom at Walmart by the time the car would be charged and ready to roll............see article below.

I read the article and caught this:

"other Porsches blocked stalls at the EA station so the entire electricity load could go to one car at a time. (This did not make us popular with the other EV drivers there, but c’est la cars, I guess.)"

What? Seriously? These a-holes occupied an entire station so they could do a charging test? Wow. This disgusts me so much I can't think of anything nice to say. So I won't say anything about how inconsiderate and selfish they are. I will just think it to myself.

Maybe I will just ban their site from future visits. They don't deserve revenue from my eyeballs.

It's even more fun when you compare the C-rates (accounts for battery size differences). Taycan is achieving a sustained 3C rate here, which is very impressive! At 60% it's 3x faster than the Mach-E.

The chart that matters more than KW rate is miles added by time. sadly, the 22 Porsche is here, but the 25 is not.

Well you're old and stuck in fairbanks, the MME can't reach anywhere you'd go as there's no chargers along the way. Besides the F150 makes a far better road tripper.

These numbers really are next level. My Kia tops out at 233kw charging and 320kw regen. 260mi range. This Taycan is on another level, but then, so is the pricing. Even for the slow models.

Kias have been doing that for years. Wind rwd has a 300+ mi real world range, 10-80 in 18 min. The Porsche just uses a bigger battery so the range is larger, but the power delivered charging vs the C is also higher. And its still charging at or below the Kia's C rate. This is nothing but a big battery, basically. My curiosity is actual efficiency on the higher hp models.

Wow, interesting to see so much negativity in this thread. I guess my point in posting it was the technology (addressing reluctance and "pull back" of the general public and OEMs) is moving forward quite a bit. At those charging rates your creeping closer to what people consider a "normal time" to fill up. If we can get the majority of EVs to do this the nay sayers will have one less (absurd) argument not to continue the adoption of a much better vehicle than ICE......Drove my wife's 2023 Cadillac XT5 the other day and thought, "wow, what a POS, my Mach E drives smoother, faster and is 20X quicker off the jump". And, I don't mean racing, just moving off from a red light, it seems sluggish and under powered. Just can't imagine ever driving an ICE on a regular basis again.

55c is 131F! That is not a healthy temperture for the battery. A graph of soc verse temperature is needed.
