Yes, $13/month.

But even without monthly fee, their standard rate is lower then what I have to pay for electricity at home from the local utility company.
At home my rate is $0.53/kwh. The two closest Tesla superchargers are $0.44 and $0.46/kwh without membership or $0.35/kwh with memebership.

My local utilities wants to increase rates by 15% again this spring. So potentially my home electricity rate could be around $0.60/kwh in a few months.
Don't worry Tesla will raise the price a bit to match, they have to pay from the same utility co if the station is close to your home.

EVgo and most of the other DCFC stations near by are also in the upper 40 cent to lower 50 cent range.
The Public L2 chargers are between $0.15-$0.40/kwh near by as well. So they're all lower than charging at home.

Order #14833, shipping TBD.
What's the over/under on the number of adapters left attached to the supercharging cable?
Probably not as many as you'd think, because it won't dock back into the Supercharger tower with the adapter on it. So unless Ford owners are unplugging and then just throwing the cable on the ground, they'll remember to unplug!

Nope, not in CA. The utilities do have to submit the request and get gov approval. But they've been increasing rates like crazy. 8 years ago I was paying $0.18/kwh, today it's $0.53 with possibility of that going to $0.60 in a month or two if the gov approves it.

And you don't have a choice, there's only one utility serving each area.
And the 'cherry on top' is there will be no more gas appliances after 2030.....electric furnace....dryer.....yikes.

oh so it isnt free? You would think with buying a car that dropped $30000 in 14 months
I could least get a free $230 part

cant we just buy any one of theses adapters on amazon right now instead of waiting months?
Because:
(1) Ford is first in line with the manufacturer deals made with Tesla.
(2) Beyond a handful of early test units, the adapters haven't even been made yet (thus: April-June shipping)
(3) We're getting them for free.

Somewhere down the road (next year?), yes, you'll just be able to order one from Ford Parts, or maybe Tesla, or maybe Amazon.

Given they just pushed the plug in charge update to all the cars, do we know if there are any other adapters for sale now that one could get immediately?

Well natural gas prices isn't exactly cheap either. It comes from the same utilities (PGE) and they just reported record profits. Yet they keep requesting rate increase to "Cover costs".
Natural gas is now at $2.94 per therm.

Tesla's rates are either a great deal or more expensive compared to EVGo & EA.

Looks like charging off peak is the way to go.

This is near my workplace - much closer than having to drive 10 miles+..

Is the image from the Tesla app? Be interested to know what chargers will work once the adapter gets here? My Tesla app only shows the magic doc locations as available.

I think it's time for you to use your money more wisely and get an ICE or hybrid that gets 40 mpg.

I think that's greatly location dependent. Near my home/work Tesla is cheaper than EA/EVgo by about $0.10-$0.20/kwh.
Also the Tesla stations here are fixed price while EA/EVgo has time of use pricing.
So it's varies depending on location.

I work from home, my wife works 5 miles away, so our annual mileage combined between all 3 of our cars is roughly 12k miles (includes road trips with the kids).
We do own two ICE vehicles, but those wont' help with our electricity consumption for the rest of the house :)

Our MME charging is only 1/2-1/3 of our overall utility use.

BTW gasoline is $6.50/gallon

Yes, the Tesla app is being used - you have to activate non Tesla charging and say that you already have the adapter in order to see the live Tesla SC map & location details.
