Because the cables running from the station to the connector are liquid cooled to keep heat under control. Heat causes more resistance, and enough heat of course can cause damage/fires. Since the extension could have no cooling other than air cooling it would have to be much thicker...
I might be willing to carry a baseball bat if it means I am not taking up two charging spaces. That is the one thing that would make me hesitate before choosing a SC station. Otherwise I want to only use SC stations from now on.

EA sucks so bad. Today I used P&C and it failed. I was able to activate the charger using Charge Assist, but it was slow and overall (including the P&C failure) it took five minutes to get the charge started. What a PIA.

Without liquid cooling, it would be like carrying a baseball bat.
I think it would need to look like a huge banana, the size of a baseball bat ?

It exists but who wants to be the guinea pig for it? Not me! Would Tesla approve the use of this? Not likely.

But it can’t be a cable. Has to be a solid connector, otherwise needs cooling and doesn’t work.

Do Tesla owners get free membership? Remember Elon opened chargers to get tax payer money, so if pricing isn't equal there will be lawsuits.
Either way, I would think the Robinson-Patman act prohibits price discrimination, here. I'm not clear how Elon can legally charge MME owners more than Tesla owners for the same product (electricity). What is the loophole? Any legal eagles here?

I understand the cooling problem, but why is it required to have a hard case? Why can't it be flexible? The power lines hanging over your head are flexible.

If it can handle the current, why can't it be a cable? I don't know how well it works, but it is "coming soon". How many volts are power lines? They don't have cooling.

In a free market the seller and buyer are free to exchange goods and services at any price they want to. Are you advocating against a free market? Count me out of that. Price controls are a horrible idea. They create huge problems.

Because they are long! Try to take a two foot section and good luck bending it. Unless you’re the hulk. I would also be concerned about the integrity of the in-car hookup. The adaptor will weigh a lot.

Same as above.

Hulk is not amused with your puny arms!

All I need is someone trustworthy to test it and confirm it works and I am getting one.

It's 9 feet long. I'm no electrical engineer so I won't make any presumptions about whether it will work or not.

Well, depends on how flexible you mean by "flexible". Power lines are quite stiff. They just look flexible when they string over thousands of feet.

It’s a solution looking for a problem. Tesla designed an adaptor that Ford provided to us for free. Both are aware of the need to take up two spots when we charge (they are not dumb). What problem are we trying to solve?

Resistance (heat) is a product of current (amperage), not voltage. That's why power lines use extremely high voltage (10's of thousands of volts). Then transformers step down the voltage and increase the amperage as it gets to the house or building (or charging station) at the end.
