I know it would make it fairly clunky but I'm amazed the official adapter didn't have some kind of extension cable.

it would have to be massive and cost $$$ to handle the power we are talking about here. i’m sure if they thought they could do it safely they would have. as it is the DCFC cables have active cooling.

Not realistically possible without making the adapter very expensive. DCFC cables are liquid cooled to keep the cable size down. You wouldn't be able to liquid cool an adapter or extension, so you would need very thick and very expensive cable to handle the current that runs through these things.

I'd also be curious how Tesla handles certain non-Tesla EVs actively charging in their station availability. If a Ford, or any other EV that takes up 2 charging stations when charging, is using a station will their software mark the station that's blocked as unusable until the car blocking it is done charging...

Ah, I'd missed they switched from air cooled to liquid back with the V3 stations. Guess the ball is on Tesla now to add longer cables to future station designs (although I doubt that'll happen soon)

V4 stations do have longer cables and they are starting to roll them out.

This placement is probably happenstance.

It's likely not happenstance, but also not to intentionally block non-Teslas. Older V2 Tesla Superchargers shared power for every two towers, so owners know to spread out so as to have a tower to yourself. Unfortunately while that's not needed on V3 towers, the habit continues. There's gonna be a lot of teething pains for the next year or so.

I never park right next to another car if I can avoid it. And as someone else mentioned, some (older) chargers share power so it's also best to space out. I don't see any nefarious behavior here.

Nope, normal behavior learned from charging at the many V2 SC sites. While not necessary at V3 locations it might just be force of habit.

Remember that from old vids. That is what I was thinking we should not take it personally. They are probably not thinking about us at all they are thinking about themselves.

Appears you need to be a member to read twitter now; oh well I can do without anything Musk. Drop over $40 at a magic dock last trip for less than 50% so I am thinking I maybe can do without that also. I can afford it but there is a reason for that. Made it the first 3 years without them that can continue. I wish all them would switch from $/min to $/kw as the current is just discrimination against MME's ;)
