I highly doubt it. As I understand, CARE is for low income folks. My friend makes about 4x what I make.

I'm looking forward to the end of my solar lease so I can get a bigger system and not have to buy from PGE anymore.
I'm looking forward to the end of my lease, too. But we don't have a big enough roof to be able to ditch PG&E. But I am going to add battery backup. And install more efficient panels in order to increase system size by 50%.

I have a 4kw system right now. with the current 400watt panels I can get 8kw on my roof. I'm hoping by the time my solar lease is up, they will have 500-600 watt panels so I can get 10-12 kwh on my roof. I also plan to get battery backup. If I get a 10-12kwh system, that should be enough to charge my cars as well as power Heat Pump furnace and hot water heater. So I can get by with virtually no payments to PGE.

I've got a 4.94 kW system using 190W panels that are 14.9% efficient. In theory, with using 22.5% efficient panels, I should be able to increase the size to over 7 kW using the same physical foot print. But that's not a bridge I have to cross for another 3+ years.

4.94 kw with 190 watt panels, so that's 26 panels? With current 400 watt panels you should be able to get a 10.4kwh system with 26 panels.

That's assuming the 400 watt panels are the same physical form factor as the existing 190 watt panels. If they were, they'd be 30% efficient. Which don't don't exist commercially currently.

My HOA has severe restrictions regarding placement of solar panels. The best place to put them is on the front side of the roof, but that is not allowed. Putting them on the rear flat to the roof I might be able to run half the house on solar - as long as I can keep the evil gas appliances. If I am forced to replace gas with electric, I will ever be able to generate enough to even run half the house.

Isn't his thread supposed to be about the NACs adapter?

I will never live in HOA where they can tell me what I can and can't put on my roof, what color I can paint my house, or the type of plants I can have in my front yard. That sort of overreach is just too much.

Best place to put the panels is where you get the most sunlight for the longest time. In northern latitudes, that means facing due south. Sadly, for me, I don't have a lot of space on the part of the roof that faces mostly south. So I ended up with an array that faces 116-degrees (kinda south-east). It works well enough. The north-west facing side of the roof has shading issues in mid to late afternoon that makes it not cost effective to put panels there. Mostly caused by a large hill across the street from us.

Then again, after ordering my adapter and NOT getting the upgrade for the Tesla supercharges, I see these two WTF messages on my main screen…

any thoughts on this?

My adapter won’t arrive until August lol. I drive all over Texas for work and need an adapter yesterday. Does anyone know where I can purchase an adapter for supercharging? Or is the Ford adapter the only option that works right now?

Yes. It is a prepping update, to prep your car for the next prepping update. Once your car is all prepped, you will be in good shape. Until then, I would be very concerned that your car is not fully prepped. However, this might be the last prepping update, so it could be you have nothing to worry about.

I think the best approach is to feel good that your car is finally prepped, until the next prepping update shows up. If it does. If not, all is good!

But seriously, I don't know if the Tesla P&C update is dependent on the prepping update, but it is possible. I received the prepping update and then later the P&C update. It is irrelevant until I actually have an adapter to use. I expect you will get the P&C update long before you get your adapter.

BTW - I received the Tesla P&C update on 2/28, and ordered the adapter the morning of 2/29, so I doubt there is any correlation between receiving the update and ordering the adapter. They are independent.
