It all depends what version of software you start on it will vary to update to latest. Some software cannot jump right to current versions and have to be updated in sequence.Question... does anyone know generally, how long it would take to update each module?
Generally the APIM,IPMA are the longer 3+ HR updates
CMR,PSCM,BCM were about 45min to 1.5 hours on my car
OBDM,OBCC,TCU,DSP and others all 5-15 minutes depending on module.
your mileage may vary if old 21 build 1 car and on older software.
Also this is just the flash time to the car, the download of the software itself to the PC will depend on internet speed.
However I did not notice any speed difference using a USB stick or SSD writing to the car, probably because it’s all over the older USB standard not the newer USB C (even though it has the plug). It will make it faster copying the files to the device from FDRS though. This is usually only for GWM, APIM, and sometimes TCU that use usb updates. sometimes an update is just a new configuration written to the module with no big changes.
I will pull the other VIN updates when back from break
