More Exhilaration for 2024

April 9, 2024

For 2024, we’re taking everything our customers love about Mustang Mach-E and incorporating that feedback into the vehicle. That means more performance – the quickest production Mustang Mach-E ever – capturing the thrill of driving with mountains of electric torque. That also means additional range with improved DC fast charging speeds, and more options matched to what our customers are looking for. And a new electric pony for our growing stable that can take you off-road1 when you want to get your Mustang® a little dirty.

Faster than the Tesla Model Y Performance: The Quickest Production Mustang Mach-E

Our 2024 Mustang Mach-E GT with the Mustang Mach-E GTTM Performance Upgrade truly is the quickest Mustang Mach-E to date2. 0-60 mph in 3.3 seconds, it is faster than both the Tesla Model Y Performance and the Porsche Macan 4 Electric3. It cracks the quarter mile in 11.8 seconds at 114 mph4.

The Performance Upgrade combines innovative powertrain thermal modeling and control algorithms, and our new in-house eMotor helps to deliver the improved torque – an additional 100 lb. ft. compared to vehicles without the Performance Upgrade.

Separate from the Performance Upgrade, we've standardized popular performance features, such as the Ford Performance front seats, MagneRide® Damping System and Brembo™ branded front brake calipers, for 2024 Mustang Mach-E GT. These were previously included only on the 2023 Mustang Mach-E GT Performance Edition.

The new rear eMotor, developed in-house by Ford engineers, that debuts on all trim levels of the new Mustang Mach-E, weighs less and helps to deliver improved torque across the 2024 line up.

Impressive Range and Fast Charging

The 2024 Mustang Mach-E® SUV with available extended range battery charges almost 20 percent faster with DC fast charging than previous models, enabling drivers to charge from 10-80% in approximately 36.2 minutes and get back on the road – that's 8.8 minutes faster than previous models – and standard range battery offerings charge 10-80% in 32.3 min, which is 5.7 minutes faster than the Mustang Mach-E at launch5.

And Mustang Mach-E gets better with each model year. Again, thanks to the new eMotor, along with other tweaks and improvements, we’ve increased the range of the vehicle compared to the first model year of Mustang Mach-E in 2021.

Wonder if those charging improvements are due to software enhancements or did they do something on the hardware side to allow for faster charging speeds. Hope that if it's just a software enhancement that they could push it to other MYs. Would definitely appreciate saving an extra 8ish mins at the charger if they could improve upon the charging curve.

This confirms the new rear motor is going in all trims.

Will this be the final stake in the heart of the argument that the bus bars will melt and the GT will turn into liquid magma if they let it have any more power?

Internally the number was 3.1 seconds for 24MY, and 3.3 was going to be the performance tune for the current MMEGT owners - I have a slight feeling this is no longer the case. Either way, definitely happy to see Ford listened and improved!

There must have been hardware upgrades to the battery to allow more current to flow for longer. I’m curious if the latest HVBJBs are the same as in the ‘24 cars.

Arguably, the specs we’re seeing today are what should have been on the MME back in 2021. Regardless, the refresh looks good and I wish I had the money to trade in my ‘21 GT.

Why is the rally’s range so low? Mechanically, isn’t it just a lifted GT?

if only Ford did the Porsche thing and understated its numbers.

I gotta think that Ford upgraded the bus bars (or whatever the limiting factor is on the ‘21-‘23) to supply more power to the motors and enable faster charging.

36 mins and 12 seconds seems awfully specific on the 10% to 80% charge times so I’m guessing that’s exactly what they’re going to deliver. I just wish the older ER packs had that time cuz damn, if it doesn’t suck to hang out for so long at a charging station with the short range of the GT.

Where was the new rear motor previously mentioned? That’s a bummer, as it is highly doubtful older Gets can buy the performance upgrade.

Nice to see Ford moving forward with design and engineering. Things in the BEV space are getting so competitive it's great. Nice range and chargeing bumps for sure. I expect those numbers will continue to creep upwards. Eeking out slightly better numbers is something car makers are actually pretty good at.

Definitely looking forward to whatever my next electric will be.
