And a Bronco "Sport" isn't a real Bronco.

Thes opinions and $2.95 will get you a "Tall" coffee at Starbucks -- which is their shortest coffee.
Hence the laughs ?

Were you trying to respond to a post other than the one you quoted?? This seems like a completely unrelated set of comments and questions.
Sorry, I read your post wrong. ?

Well, after reading the whole article, I interpreted some sections differently and some even worse.:rolleyes:

“We will never build an all electric 2-row SUV Mustang.” Well, I just looked in my garage and there is one there, so…. ?‍♂

I think we have our DEFINITIVE answer. The Mustang Mach-e is not a Mustang. It is a Mustang Mach-e. With that settled, I will go back to enjoying my Mustang Mach-e.

I agree with your interpretation.

We finally have the answer to the age old question of "Is the Mach-E a Mustang?" In the linked article below, CEO Jim Farley says they will never build an Electric Mustang or one for off-roading (sorry Mach-E Rally). Interesting little article.

IDK - to me it has always been obvious why they called it a Mustang Mach-E: Do you really want the new electric SUV to out perform in almost every respect, your flagship muscle car? It was a marketing decision. I prefer Model E anyway, TBH.

Well, a couple of statements taken out of context settles it, then.

I guess I should grind off all of the Mustang emblems all over my Mustang...er... It's-Definitely-Not-A-Mustang Mustang Mach-E.

Really, I think instead I should just take my Mustang out for a wash.

I’ll say it to my death bed: “If you don’t believe that my MME GT ain’t a Mustang, meet me at a red light!…”

Hasn't calling the Mach-E an "SUV" always been done with a wink?

I think Farley just said the quiet part out loud.

I'm not a Farley hater. Not at all, to be honest. I don't think he's been there long enough to get much credit or blame for the products I own.

(2022 Powerboost/Mach-E/2012 F150/2017 Transit 350)

Regardless, he's a CEO of Ford Motor Company. Not someone who I would consider is worthy of parsing every statement in such granular ways. Or put another way, he's the Chief Business Man. Not the Chief Engineer or Designer.

Just my own personal opinion on such matters.

“One thing I can promise, however, is that we will never make an all-electric Mustang,” added Farley, discounting the unrelated Mustang Mach-E electric SUV that shares its name.

This part is actually disappointing.

An all electric Mustang coupe would be pretty awesome. I kinda assumed they WOULD eventually build one.
I'll put money on the Electric Falcon!

An EV coupe would be cool, but a V8 hybrid would be cooler, and more desirable imo. The smartest way to offer an EV mustang coupe imo, would be to leverage Ford's upcoming affordable EV platform, and make some sporty compact hatch that takes inspiration from the 80s foxbody.

Young people don't have a ton of disposable income, they're really into 80s nostalgia, and they're more receptive to EVs. Offer an EV mustang that takes inspiration from 80s fox body mustangs, and that younger people can more easily afford. Keep selling the V8 larger mustang alongside it with all that delicious 60s fastback inspired styling.

Appeal to multiple types of enthusiasts in one go, those who want a smaller, cheaper, more nimble but slower mustang, and hardcore traditionalists alike. I'd also love to see a mid-engine mustang at some point seeing as the mustang literally debuted as a mid-engine car, and Ford was spied testing c8s a couple years ago. I feel like something is going on there.
