Agreed that Tesla was likely short on their original schedule for April. I have order 3242 and was originally a May estimate (delayed to June). Tesla was probably short about a thousand units for April deliveries to Ford given that nearly half of the first wave went to out of order shipments, given that orders up into the 900s have been received, plus the orders in the 8000s that were shipped out of order. Not exactly sure of the lowest April estimate’s number that got delayed into June, but Tesla is going to have to deliver a boat load of adapters to Ford this month in order for Ford to make good on the original April and May estimates. I am unfortunately guessing that some of the May delayed to June estimates will be delayed again. ??
I am 1689 on the list and was scheduled for May pushed back to June and has not shipped yet.

Wow, so Ford originally thought to ship fewer than 1700 units in April. Ouch. Catching up is going to be heck. ??

I'm #1922 (also May moved to "June"). The lowest number I saw in the delay tread that got bumped from April to June was 977. Although less than a 1/3rd of the posters bothered to mention their order#, so it's probably a bit lower than that. Maybe somewhere around 800-900?

Since they ship to customers from Dearborn, that means Tesla ships them to Ford first. All that takes time to ship (twice) and process, and fit within the work time all the teams involved are juggling within other job priorities. That's why I figure Ford's April delivery estimates probably needed to ship from Tesla in March... May in April... etc.

All water under the bridge at this point, I suppose. I don't think any delivery estimate means anything at this point, other than establishing the order.

I am planning a road trip to Oregon in early July, my adaptor says June and previously said May, it was reserved on 2/29 and is 4xxx. I'm beginning to think I need to order an alternative, not sure how long that takes. I'd like to use up my remaining EA credits, but not a lot of EA chargers in Oregon. I want to go to Crater Lake for one place, and not much in that area.
re: crater lake travel
i travel the path between bend and medford regularly. on the uphill trip from medford to bend (~180 miles) i use 73-75% of my extended range battery with lively driving in moderate temps, 80-85% in colder temps and more moderate driving; downhill trip is only 63-65% in moderate temps. there are currently zero available DCFCs east of I5 in the middle of oregon so plan carefully. it is doable if you get a FULL charge before leaving I5 and drive a bit conservatively. on I5 in that area, most of the EA stations (plenty of them) are near tesla stations; having options is useful.

there is a tesla 8-stall v4 dispenser station going in at the intersection of 138 and 97 (NE of crater lake) but no guarantees it will be completed before your trip. it has been progressing since the layoffs but it appears to be waiting on the utility to land power.

You’re welcome Eric. I placed my reservation in the first hour or two (05:30 Pacific) and was originally a May estimate. I am not optimistic that it will ship in June since I don’t think the boat load will appear (maybe a shoebox load). ?‍♂?
I heard a ray of hope this morning on a podcast that Farley was on. As I recall he said they have 100,000 coming and should have 10,000 done shortly. My interpretation is that they have a bunch coming in about now.

Great.
Farley: "10,000 done shortly"
Me sitting here with my order #: FAE:90010254

(Ford site still says my original June delivery date)

I had been thinking about going from Bend to Crater Lake, then over to Roseburg and to the coast on 42 or 38, but maybe that would be pushing it to much it sounds like. This will be my first long road trip, I have not been outside of WA with my MME yet. We could maybe stay at a motel with a L2 charger somewhere. I see Sutherlin has an EA. I've only been to Crater Lake once years ago.

Is he the guy that said Blue cruise was coming soon last summer?

We can hope. "100,000 coming" was the original plan, of course, so that's not news. That's nearly how many orders they have, so they *better* have planned for that many.

"10,000 done shortly" is hopefully good news, but we'll see what "shortly" really ends up being. And whether that 10,000 means just Ford, or split with Rivian.

That first (and only) batch was surely sent out by Tesla in March (since they were mailed from Ford to customers April 5). March was 3 months ago. Layoffs or not, I would sure expect Tesla would have resumed production of them by now.

Interesting. I'm #9017. I had to break down and get an A2Z as I'm headed over to AZ in a couple of days. With my luck it will show up while I'm out of town and some porch pirate will steal it.

One hopes that “shortly” is not equivalent to “soon™️” in Ford parlance. ??

bend to crater lake to roseburg w/o charging would be pushing it. there is a good L2 at the restaurant just outside the south entrance of crater lake that can get you a few miles while you get a meal or something. there is also an EVCS 50kW charger in roseburg, EA and tesla in sutherlin, and tesla at myrtle creek. the EVCS location is slow but wouldn't require backtracking up/down I5 to get to a faster charge.
