Well best of luck with this dealer. Don't forget to get the EV team involved. They should be able to review the facts and help with getting your current dealer to affect repairs. And ask for a FSE to get involved as well. Telling them that at the outset will clue them in to the fact that you are aware of how repair processes for difficult cases work, and that you're not gonna fall for the ol' banana in the tailpipe routine this time. (Eddie Murphy reference).

The local dealer had me contact Ford Customer Relations on the phone. The local sympathized, but need to be reimbursed for their work. It's business, not their error so I understood.

Ford threw their hands up, said there's nothing they can do, and referred me back to the original dealer. Just not feasible. 3 hrs away in another state.

I believe the Federal fine for not performing a safety recall is $24K. Have you considered bringing that to the attention of the dealer that failed to perform the work and lied about it, and the NHTSA as well?

Hello, greetings, I recently went for maintenance because my car does not do automatic updates and they told me that everything was fine but I noticed a difference in the one pedal driving since that day, I would like to know if they gave it any update that they had not informed me about, this is it. my VIN # 3FMTK3SU1NMA39222 thanks

I'm confidant if I took it back to the original dealer (South Carolina) they would take care of the car. My ultimate issue is taking it back that far. Like a lot of people I work M-F and don't have the kind of time.

For this to work i need a dealer local to Raleigh, NC. And it's not their problem the original dealer BSd. I made a choice to buy the car there. Business is business and service centers already hate EVs.

It's likely you won't until the 'Fleet Authorized' setting for your TCU is removed. It should say 'Retail Authorized' only under normal circumstances for OTAs to be sent.

I take it your car sat at the dealer's lot for a while and I would suspect that it was also in the Ford Courtesy Transportation Program (FCTP) while there...and once it got sold to you it may not have been removed from Fleet mode. That is usually what accounts for not getting any OTAs at all after sale (well at least it's a red flag).
3FMTK3SU6PMA88693-15-Jun-24OTA.png

I'd call both the dealer who sold you the car (or whoever your servicing Ford dealer is) and also call Electric Vehicle Team 800-392-3673 or 866-631-3788 x79969 and ask them about getting the 'Fleet Authorized' removed from your car's modem so that OTAs will start coming through.
Don't waste your time!. A few pages back mine was discovered in the same Modem Activation mode and I did call the number above and they told me that The Fleet authorized would not prevent OTA's from happening. So obviously this Electric vehicle team is not fully informed about this status and will just argue with you that they know for a fact this status won't cause any issues with OTA and close the case.

Good luck!

On the surface, the car looks fine. The modem is properly activated and your car is talking to the cloud. I see you are a few Sync versions behind and your OTA history is blank, but I don't see anything wrong with the car itself that would prevent it from getting updates. Seems to me like crap luck with the OTA process.

I see no indication that the dealer did any updates, so not sure why you feel a difference in the way it drives.

Took my 2023 Premium in due to a one pedal drive fault and charging past limits and a charge fault (orange ring and service vehicle message and wouldn’t start). Dealership told me TSB 24-2187 was completed and a module was updated (don’t remember which one) but there was no code set for the charge fault and TSB 24-2141 did not apply because they could not duplicate. They also said the 12V battery looked good. Anyway, just wondering if everything was taken care of. 3FMTK3SU1PMA73616. Thanks in advance!

Good morning. Heading to the dealership soon for 50k service, CSP, and probably 12v battery replacement. Would love to see what updates there might be.

No updates in 3 months (by far the longest stretch) which just also happens to correspond to when I changed my router to an Eero system (probably a coincidence), so I just want to see what's up.

VIN: 3FMTK3R77PMA31788

Thx in advance.

They updated the powertrain modules. Which would have covered both of those faults.

Here's the list of things that are still available..notably a GWM , APIM, TCU, all together!

It looks like the car has only been driven 8 times in that three months as well. It checks in with the cloud servers only when it's driven. Not sitting at home on the house Wi-Fi....There has been only 1 OTA so far (and it was a tiny config update) for the gateway module that required Wi-Fi.....the rest of them download over the car's internal TCU (modem) while you're driving. If the car sits for a very long time the 12V battery slowly drains as well. Yours is currently at 77% state of charge (according to the last time it phone home to the mothership). So even if a download had been received it wouldn't have processed with such a low SOC.

Ford is responsible for the mistaken belief that putting your car (or truck) on your home Wi-Fi will get downloads faster. That may eventually be true at some point, but for the past three years it has not been the case. So they have a lot of owners thinking that if they just park it at home, put it on Wi-Fi and have it check at 1 AM everything will be hunkey-dorey. Not so much.

Here's the list of available software for your car showing in FDRS:

My wife drives to the office twice a week, and I take it grocery shopping once a week, so over the last three months (not counting weekend trips, etc), it's been driven at least 36 times.

So perhaps there's a problem with it checking in with the servers if it's only done that 8 times during that time period.

I get the 12V up in the 90s after driving it around during the week hoping that would help initiate updates, but no dice.

Thanks for looking for me.

Thanks! I see the RGTM has an update. I’ve had issues where it will intermittently pop open and stop or stop about 1/4 open. Am I correct in assuming that a dealership will only search for and update a module only if there is an open TSB, recall, or customer complaint? In other words they will only update the modules they are told to update and nothing more and won’t update everything just because FDRS says there’s an update?

edit: and some of these come via OTA right?

Well if that's the case...go into Sync and make sure you haven't locked the privacy settings down so tight that it's not communicating routinely. Look for this icon to show up on the top row of your Sync screen as a tip that the car is communicating.

It should be there more or less continuously.
