Sync Audio Works 50% of the Time

Every now and then Sync audio for calls, podcasts, etc wouldn’t work. My fix is to go into phone settings and disconnect and reconnect which seemed to fix it. Now this is happening 50%+ of the time. Anyone else seeing more of this and is there a permanent fix?

Same issue here. Plus most of the time the wrong phone for the profile connects. Example, wife is in the house and her phone connects instead of mine.

That’s a feature, not a bug. Wives asked for that and Ford listened. Wife phone always takes priority regardless of profiles, proximity or usage.?

Can you be more specific? Is this Bluetooth audio? Apple CarPlay or Android Auto? Wired or wireless?

For me its carplay wireless.

Unfortunately, it is potentially as much an issue with the phone involved as it is the MME. In my first year of vehicle ownership my several years old LG Mobile gave me those kind of results. When I upgraded to a new phone nearly all of my issues were mostly resolved going forward. Consider this circumstance when you try to get to a better place of operation.

My car doesn’t recognize my phone now after dropping Car Play on a semi regular basis.

That part I never have a problem with, but android auto will sometimes work for hours with no issue and other times decide to disconnect every 30 seconds.

I've been having same issue w/Carplay audio. Newest iPhone. Don't know if it's an iPhone, Carplay or Ford issue though. It always works the next time. I'd say it doesn't work about 10%-20% of my drives.

iPhone 15 pro max. Will have wireless CarPlay connect and maps work like it should, but song will play with no sound (podcast,music etc). Seems to happen more often when wife is in car with her phone as well. I have it happen to me once. With wife, 3-4 times in the last 4-6 weeks or so.

After replacing my 12v battery yesterday my car wouldn't auto connect to car play until i went in and manually connected it . Now it connects fine and faster than it used to. I still say it's got something to do with lte/5g, wifi and BT. The techno dance it does is mind blowing. I watch it bounce all over when it connects in my garage. I have an AP just in front of the car so the phone hates the idea of connecting to my car when my AP is more powerful turned all the way down. My phone goes back and forth from my wifi to the car twice before I turn to drive down the street, then it connects some time 60 seconds later. It's a mess, and i think it's the same mess that causes the GPS to be a crap shoot as well.

The only fix I've found that works each time is to turn the car off, open the door so that it fully shuts down, wait a few moments, then close the door and turn the car back on. I think I've tried the sync reset trick with the buttons on the steering wheel a couple of times, but it feels much faster just to do the first solution.

The issue started in the last month or so, never had the problem previously.

Try just toggling this off/on in the CarPlay options on your phone next time. Always clears up a “phantom connection” for me.
