Hi,

I was wondering if some kind soul might scan mine: WF0TR3SU0MMA19392

The car is going in for 3 recall services. I bought it second hand. I thought I'd mention to them to run all the software updates if it had any outstanding.

If someone could check on WF0TR3SU8PMA05700 I'd be grateful.
It's just back from the dealers who have been trying to get updates unstuck. Think gateway module?
It's running a new sync version now but wondering what the status is of all the modules.
Thanks!
Looks like the put in a new APIM yesterday. I would need a pic of your entire "about sync" screen to compare the data to what Ford shows. PTS shoes Sync v4.0.23ddd which reminds me of the Sync version that early Job 1 F150's shipped with in 2020. That does not look right to me.

Good luck with that. Ford does not pay them to update modules just because they have updates pending. Your car is on Sync 23095, so the list below does not include several APIM, GWM, TCU and at least one IPC update you have pending. It does not hurt to ask, but I would not have high expectations that they do them.

Edit: Just noticed you're the UK. I am not sure how they operate there, but here in the US, the chances these updates would get done are slim to zero.

For some reason I can't post a photo... But sync version is now 23102_product revision 858.
Mac 7855cd6df3 , 28385c734e39
It was previously 22280
Sync serial is 1SN2FSJP

I've also noticed I can't access "connected vehicle features" menu in sync (have done soft reset)

Thank you so much!

They've been incredibly helpful so far.

What is the process in the US - either do it yourself or pay a garage to do them?

I don't mind paying them to do it, but figured I'd check what I was asking for ahead of time.

I've not long had the car and was browsing the forum before I realised this was even a thing.

1. If it’s related to an actual issue and there is a TSB or recall, then a dealer will do it (should) under warranty (if you are under warranty).
2. Sacrifice a lamb and hope you get all the updates OTA.
3. Pay someone to do it.
4. Buy the tools to do it yourself.

The updates they did are below. These are the things @Mike G is better at since he is more familiar with these vehicles. Attached is the TSB that I think pertains to your issue. The updates they did don't line up with the TSB exactly. I am confident that there is a TSB out there that would cover this under warranty, but I am not sure which is ESP and what it covers or not. This is a tricky one for me.

You are on Sync 23291 which is the latest or close to the latest available. Modules with pending updates are below. Your modem is working fine and the car is talking to the cloud fine. You just have to wait for the next batch to be sent to you.

Some of us have been trying to understand these updates for years and still don't, so don't feel bad.

If you have a specific issue, it helps if you say what it is so we know what to look for. The only thing that pops out to me is a code your car is reporting that refers to a TSB where you may need a CMR update to address a bad OTA that is affecting Bluecruise and driver assist features.
Thank you so much! we're on the way up to the dealer right now and I will make sure to let him know there's a TSB that does sound like my problem. I also have a ticket open with Ford for clarification about Premium protect coverage when a software update is required.

Ok, that makes more sense. I think the APIM is fine; everything looks good on the surface.

Your connectivity problem is a different issue. The country code in your TCU matches what @Trekkie101 has on his car. Based on what I can see in PTS, you are also in the UK. Your modem is properly activated and I can pull all the connected info on your car, so not sure what is causing that. It's a PITA, but you can try a master reset or if you have FORScan, do a hard reset of the GWM and TCU to see if that helps.

So it looks like everything is up to date, or can you not see cos of the connectivity issue I'm seeing in the car?
I am indeed in the UK.

I have bought a forscan cable so could do reset if necessary.

I know some of these updates take a long time is it worth just leaving it a few days to settle?

Thank you so much for giving up your time to help ?

The car is not fully up to date and I do not see anything obvious that is causing the connectivity issue. That Sync version is 2 or 3 behind the latest one. Modules with pending updates are below and you also have several APIM, GWM, TCU and at least one IPC update to be fully up to date.

Could I get a pic of the available updates one more time? I just got ECG-24.2.4.9.1 this afternoon and would like to compare to what was ran last time and showed available along with confirming the dealer did update my gateway.

This is what PTS shows. I do not have access to FDRS until I get home later (past pm eastern). If you want me to check if FDRS shows if that GWM update released any other updates, remind me later today.

As far as whether the dealer updated the GWM or not, I cannot verify as I am getting an error when I try to pull history with PTS on your car. I can check with FDRS later on this, too. However, it is a moot point imo since the OTA you got is a GWM update anyway.

My car was in shop today for updates after many, many months of having no OTA updates. They said they "PERFORMED ALL AVAILABLE MODULE SOFTWARE UPDATES CLEARED CODE". I would like to know what modules they actually updated. Can someone look this up for me please? I have a list from before the update that I can compare it to. VIN # 3FMTK4SE9NMA25308 Thanks in advance!

Hello @rugedraw,

Would you mind checking my VIN for the Tesla charger OTA?

My car has usually been good with getting OTAs but I never received this one - unless I had back to back OTAs and missed it.

I just received my adapter so I was hoping to check.

Thank you!

I do not see an OBCC update in your OTA history, but that only goes back so far. PTS does not show you have any pending updates for the OBCC and says that module is on software LJ98-14G684-AS. This is what the Tesla charger update changes the strategy to, so everything points to you having it.
