I just got BlueCruise 1.3 on my 2022

We went out yesterday and tested some of the new features of BlueCruise 1.3. It was just a quick test in nearly perfect conditions but it feels way smoother than before. We'll do a lot more testing on our road trip this week

I should have worded it better. With 1.0, I felt like it was always too close to the lane separator/dashed lines. Whenever a car would pass me on the left, I would feel the car get even closer to that line.

It does not do that with 1.3

Sad news: if you have lane assist off etc, it still has the car icon, so that is not “fixed”.

Yeah. Unfortunately this was just an image processor update, it didn’t touch the instrument cluster. There are a few new gremlins too.

For folks that have 1.3, how does it handle stop-and-go traffic while in Unbridle and One Pedal?

That's the setting I typically use, but I find in stop-and-go traffic BlueCruise is very herky-jerky.

When I get to slow traffic I usually throw it in Whisper mode and turn off one-pedal drive, which is much smoother. I'm hoping they fixed this in 1.3.

I find that it’s fine.

But it also depends on how many following distance bars you have set. It’s a range: Unbridle with 1 bar is the most aggressive, Whisper with 4 bars is the least aggressive. The aggressiveness (herky-jerky) of the acceleration and deceleration will vary on that spectrum. You have to find the right balance of drive mode and following distance for you.

I had a loaner 2023.0 with BC 1.2 in Oct last year while my MME was being serviced which due to being a loaner did not have Hands-Free BC activated and both the features you mentioned worked with the Hands-On BC 1.2. I can't imagine why they would change that with 1.3/1.4.

I'm assuming those getting this were already on or really close to 6.14. Unlike the majority of 21's that are on something less than 6.8. I think the 21's are still far away from the soon timeline. The 22's have been close since like January. But this is rolling out to EA, which means we could well have months more silence before it rolls out publically.

I’ve got a 21 in EA and I’ve been on 6.14 for maybe six months now? No hint of a BC upgrade.

It’s annoying because I’m betting I’m one of those cars already sporting all the necessary software - I just need to toggle some changes in whatever ForScan or whatever. But I’m leery of making any changes that could impact future OTAs.
