The super odd thing about that photo is that it shows cars being unloaded.....not loaded.
Does look like Mexico though. Certainly isn't KC.

Maybe the pre-OKTB cars were already loaded in the autoracks and then had to be offloaded to make room for the more important customer cars?
(yes....I said 'more important' with tongue in cheek because my car and other's here have or had vehicles in that pre-OKTB group that presumably where set aside for a while.)
Or.....
Now that we know there was a dedicated truck to Dallas.....
And we see cars being offloaded.....
and we see a truck loaded with a Grabber Blue FE and some white cars....

Hmmmmm.....
???

2/3 of deliveries refused??
What do you mean by that?

I know a lot of the 1500 parked on the plant parking lot are for Europe (including mine).
Weird is that they already missed 2 vessels from Veracruz to Europe (recent one was leaving yesterday). Next one is planned at the end of this month.

As near as can be determined about 90% of people are taking delivery. A small sample tremendously skews the trend data either direction though.

A small number of people have 2 orders with the intent of taking just one (e.g. A Machdrop FE and another version). Some dealers haven't canceled the one car they know won't be taken. Other dealers have no clue which car will actually be taken, if not both, because the customer hasn't told them. The largest portion of those who have or will refuse delivery are those people who've changed their minds for any variety of reasons.

Personally, I'd be surprised if the percentage of accepted deliveries drops down very much below 90%.
I tend to agree that the accepted deliveries will be close to 90% or more. I for one will have 50% acceptance rate due to the Mach Drop. I did cancel an earlier reservation as I was not happy with the dealer but that order still shows in my account - if that still comes through - it will 1/3rd acceptance but there probably are only very few folks in situation like this.

Follow up...apparently the premium in Dallas is being sold to someone today.
Thats great. I think any rejections will be sold pretty quickly.

You're talking about this Tweet, right?

We know the one in the upper right is Cuautitlan.
mache_railcars.jpg

Others show buildings that look very similar to the Cuautitlan plant. I'm guessing these were all Cuautitlan.
The mountains in the background are the give away. Mexico City is surrounded by mountains. Kansas City, no so much. The thing I find interesting is the photo seems to suggest they're backing the cars on to the rail cars. That seems odd and risky to me. Much easier to drive a straight line forward.

Not just easier.....required. (per the Ford Rail and Haulaway Vehicle Handling Manual)

We saw Darren Palmer got his, and that one California Route 1 in Dallas... who got the 3rd? ;)
Well it’s nice you only see that from this report .. what I see is Ford made 5,000+ customers car in 2020 but only sold/delivered 3 of them? What’s the hold up? Anyone has any real info on what’s going on? Over 2.5k MME built in November and only 3 delivered ... hmmm..

I also want to see what Ford is doing about the charging curve? I wonder if all this delay is because of some type of issue they need to fix before selling the cars? If so what is it?

Ford has been very boastful about their manufacturing prowess, yet Ford sure seems to have a difficult time delivering on that. It seems many of the November builds are stuck, perhaps in some kind of QC hold?

Regarding the charging profile, agreed, I’ve seen three tests and they were all miserable.

Just to be clear, my post was lighthearted.

I'm impressed that there were 5,000+ Mach-Es built, and about 1,500 released for shipment by Dec 31. I'm sure more have shipped since Dec. 31, the reporting cutoff.

It's totally normal for a new launch to stockpile new vehicles until "OK to Buy" is achieved, and then start shipping, which then takes a while to ship all the stockpiled cars.

Think of your bathtub drain. When you shower, it can drain the water instantly, in fact it can drain more water than is added, so water doesn't back up. But when you take a bath, and then release the plug, it takes a bit for all that water to drain back out.

That's normal when every new model launches, the "tub" fills up with vehicles until they can make sure every one has quality. The "drain" is the railyard, which can ship faster than the plant can build (the "shower"), but not that fast *and* every stored car *instantaneously.*

The problem with sales was more of not enough inventory on the lots than not selling. Can't keep up with the demand as suppliers can't keep up due to you know why.
The average bronco sport sits on a lot for 22 hours. F-series trucks, 3crews running and overtime and can't make them enough.

The mache will be the same way. Demand for ford products is high just have to get them to the dealers quickly enough.
